ParticipantHi Guys this is just to make sure Im thinking straight, the lower spray arm doesnt go round the top one does. The divertor in the heater chamber?,im thinking so. Is there an easy way of replacing them? its the one in the moulded base.
Siemens integrated dishwasher with the instantaneous heater chamber.

The diverter valve is built in to the heater unit. Cabinet off job to replace. No other service part available – all one assembly.

It will leak from the side tank so have a towel at the ready. Empty all water from the sump too. Unhook the door cords and unclip the two multi plugs from the base on the motor side before you turn it over. Easiest way to do it if you’ve got enough room. Wiz

Is there any water coming out the lower spray arm, if there is I have had faulty arms that look ok but work fine when replaced.
Also check the water level, diverter disc position and pump pressureMay 16, 2013 at 4:19 pm #394885Johnnyboy

I fear I’ve come across this thread too late, but just in case……

My experiences that it is better to leave the base firmly on the floor as it’s there to catch the water. Time consuming yes but this way is easier.
I can’t imagine an easier way to change heater by tipping on the side unless you can remove the “lid”.
Also look out for spiders but be warned to check pcb as by the time you fitted the heater and there’s nothing more soul destroying to find the sodding board blown. Both are related fault and hey you solved half of it then send away the board to finish the second half.

If you remove the top arm feed pipe & check the diverter disc with a long terminal screwdriver,if its tight you can drill a hole in the disc through the front hole.If you unclip the valve cover you can then unplug the diverter motor just in case it starts turning again,i have done this a few times & the dishwashers have worked fine also customer might not want to go to the expense of a new heater box.

Either you are brave or foolish but I wouldn’t do that as it is bad working practice and false economy.

Hi Roy1,
If you drill a hole in the diverter valve disk it will still be in the incorrect position and still inside the heater unit?.
I’m sure we all know how to fix the diverter valve problem without fitting parts, just never thought of drilling it out!.
