    Please excuse me butting in:

    Why don’t the manufacturers fit the modules into moisture-proof boxes, to prevent corrosion. After all, most vehicle engine-management computers are placed in boxes.

    Cost and relative values.
    Car computer £500 – £pick a number
    Car Engine – Couple of grand?

    Bosch Washer £280 – £550 whole thing.

    Thanks for all the advice . I took the module out and would you believe it … a dry joint . Probably from the vibrations. Bit of solder and hey presto !! Job done.
