i have tried a reset and you can hear the pump come on. when i opened the dishwasher back up the level was the same.
should it empty it out completely? or would it still leave some water in the base. i suppose i’ll find out on the next wash if theres a blockage again.
thanks again.

There will always be some water left in the base (approx 750m) 😉

At 750m you might find something like this in your dishwasher, probably around the sump area. 😯

Hi me again.
I had to do the same thing again as it was infact blocked.
There must be something getting stuck in the waste pipe. When i unblock it there doesn’t seem to be anything obvious coming out in the dishwasher.
I couldn’t blow down the waste pipe any harder as i nearly passed out.
How easy it to gain access to the pump and the waste pipe inside the dishwasher?
Don’t really fancy pulling the whole thing out.
Thanks again.

Oh L I missed out the ‘L’ didn’t I (750ml) 😳
You guys……always quick to spot an error aren’t you…? :rolls:

Anyone would as there is a flap-valve in the line to prevent flow-back thats why :rolls: Just unscrew the Torx screw and remove the pump cover to check the pump (see User Instruction Booklet for details) 🙂

Hi thanks for the reply.
I have removed the cover to the pump and obviously the non return value.
This is how i am unblocking it each time.
What do you suggest to try next as it keeps getting blocked?
Thanks
Paul

The drain coupling under the sink I guess (unless it enjoys a seperate drain that is?) secondary couplings are always a problem as the pump is not very powerful at all. 🙁
I’ve no idea how old your machine is but pumps don’t improve with age and may need replacing anyway?
Good tip – Rinse plates as much as possible, don’t use machine as a waste disposal unit. 😉

Hi,
I have a similar problem with my Bosch dishwasher.
The drain pump is continually running even when the sump appears empty. Is ther a float switch inside anywhere which gives the water level.
I have checked the impeller and the non return flap. when i fill with clean water the pump runs down and does not stop, even with the door open!
Any ideas? 😕August 13, 2007 at 7:59 pm #220568Penguin45

Float switch is in the white plastic base moulding, which will have water in it. Unplug, tip back to drain water out, then find the leak.

Me again. sorry guys.
put the dishwasher on a couple of days ago and it works perfectly not a drip of water left in the base. clean as a whistle.
woke up this morning and the base is full again. When i run the reset it won’t empty which must indicate a blockage somewhere.
question: once i’ve unblocked it again can i run the dishwasher without the non return value in? is this safe?
I am trying to establish where the block is occuring.
Can i get right into to where the pump is and where the waste pipe comes off the machine. Getting to the pump by taking the cover off doesn’t allow full access to it to clean it out?
Someone did say it could be the pump on its way out. Would this be the case as it works perfectly well sometimes and i know once i have unblocked it the pump will drain the water easily?
Please help.

Could well be that the pump is tired and worn and needs replacing? Usually they pump away cold water with ease and don’t like pumping hot water, that’s a sure sign of a worn pump! 😉
You can run the machine without the flap valve by the way but not as a permanent thing. 🙂

It’s a little tricky but accessible after removing the bottom panel etc. It wouldn’t be too costly for a local engineer to sort it for you should you wish (see link below for one)
