Erm……….sorry to be a nuisance but should then the pipe go into the plastic moulding that exits straight to the floor or stay where it is?

It is a steam vent overflow and is in its rightful position, do please accept that first and foremost. The end of which is well clear of all electrical components. Held in place by two guide holes moulded into the base.

Now, in the event someone were to open the dishwasher door whilst it was washing and steam belched out of the tub. Immediate closing of the door will force steam down this vent pipe and condense onto the moulded baseplate. If a large amount of hot steamy water were to take this route then the overflow safety switch would operate and the dishwasher automatically shut down.

All these safety systems are contained within a leak free device that is YOUR dishwasher. Please understand that this vent hose DOES NOT VENT OUTSIDE THE APPLIANCE. As I said before…….all is good…. oK?

    Holy Thread Resurrection! 🙂

Back in 2011 I said I’d post again in 2016 ref how my second hand element was doing. Well the seller said I’d easily get 5 yearsout of it and he was right save for a year. Just gone again and a “new” reclaimed one on its way from the same 2011 seller.
