I spoke to soon, its not fixed. 🙁
There is heat i.e. the water gets hot but the cycle is getting stuck on rinse. if i press the power off and then on again the timer will show 39 minutes again. sometimes when i do this it continues through to the end of the cycle and dry the the contents.

I would check the PCB for burnt relay pins if I were you. 😉

assuming that is easy to get to…is the part expensive?

Fairly easy to access and if you can’t repair it with a dab or two of solder (assuming all the while it shows signs of dry/burnt joints). Then you can go on the Bosch spares website (Bosch’s own site not eSpares or other robbing merchants) and find the price yourself. 😀

These relays dont look burnt. The capacitors haven’t blown either.

Yep! All looks OK, visually at least. 😉

what else could i be looking at? Wash cycle not finishing. Rinsing for ever, then it gives up, says it’s finished (zeros on the display) and the stuff is still wet inside.

I think we’re going round in circles on this one. But without even seeing it I know it is not heating…correct?
Apparently you recently got it going and it completed a cycle successfully. So, either the PCB is not providing power to the heater, or the heater is faulty or the water flow rate insufficient to operate the heat safety switch on the end of the heater box…???

ready for the tip i think. As you can see from the date this thread started 2007 we’ve had it for quite a long time (about 9 years).
Cost of repair plus the hassle doesnt sound like its worth getting fixed.

no, not quite ready for the tip yet.
Since putting the front back on, it’s started to work again. 3 loads down the road and we’re still good.
crossing my fingers for another 7 years.

Something popped this morning and a burnt electrical smell. It finished the cycle though. Capacitor? do i need to be concerned as it’s still finishing the cycle.

It’s begging to be replaced.
