    Has the m/c been meggered?.

    As Simon said it may well be an earth fault on another component causing the pcb to blow.

    Expensive mistake to make 🙁 . Best call an engineer I think.

    the fault not exactly the same, as this time it looks like it failed mid-cycle. Before it just didnt work when swiched on.

    If nobody has any ideas of an obvious problem I have missed, then it looks like time for an engineer.

    Did you “code” the module when you fitted it?.

    There should be a coding sheet in the box with the new one. If you haven’t coded the pcb then the programmes may not correspond with the buttons on m/c.

    Got an engineer in!

    Replacement control module dead. Once the control module was removed from the machine and the top cover removed (3 tabs), the fault could be seen. Package on one of the surface mounted triacs was melted. Triac controls the motor in the water heater changeover module.

    Lesson learnt is that there is no shutdown protection on the control module – so a dead controller can be due to a bigger fault. Makes an expensive fuse box!
