    Good Day,
I have a Bosch SHU9915UC dishwasher, four years old.
    No water circulating in dishwasher.
Disconnected inlet line at base, and it’s providing plenty of pressure.
Removed brass fitting from inlet pump and can see plastic filter but do not know how to service it.
    Reconnected inline line. Started dishwasher.
Ran perfectly with good water flow for about 20 seconds.
Inlet pump began rattling and no more water to dishwasher.
    Wife becoming hostile.
    Need help.
    Thanks.

    Re: Bosch Water Problem

It’s likely a blockage of sludge between the water level unit and the sump. If that is blocked water starts to fill then the safety switch shuts it off. 🙁

Access can be gained pushing a long thin ‘bottle brush’ up the outlet pipe within the sump recess (front l/h/side). Introducing a little hot water into the sump at the same will make it easier to dissolve the sludge 😉

    Re: Bosch Water Problem: Recurs

The Bosch successfully completed one cycle.
Then it became stuck in the drain mode.
The pump runs continuously; if you pour water into the sump it drains it all out but does not shut off.
Does this sound like the float pressure switch is faulty?
    Thanks, Martin, for your advice.

    Re: Bosch Water Problem

The base is flooded I expect 😉

Tip the machine backwards about 45 degrees and see if water leaks out? (Have a cloth handy to mop up)

:plug: PULL THE PLUG FIRST THOUGH :zap:

    Then see if it works???

    Re: Bosch Water Problem

    Problem solved.
A mouse had made a nest of the float in the bottom of the pan. Literally chewed up the styrofoam float and nested in it.
The intermittent cycling of the dishwasher must have been related to the mouse’s daily schedule of activity, causing the float to be up or down depending on whether the occupant was sleeping or out foraging.
After a successful (permanent) eviction, the Bosch is working fine now.
Thanks again, Martin, for your help.

(I once went to a bosch dishwasher with a chewed up float, but no sign of a resident)

Went to a “Dead” Bosch some years back, searching for broken wiring I removed the door outer panel – the mice were nesting in the felt sound deadening and shot off everywhich way………

Serious point – you do need to replace the float, it is a safety feature. According to Bosch, its only available as part of the pressure chamber assembly – p/no 263834, £23.15 + vat etc.

…and install some rodent poison behind the appliance as a matter of urgency….i have condemned one or two because of rodent damage (big expensive and chewy plastic mouldings in the machine)

Well, Clyde, if you really want to know…
I “evicted” its lifeless body with a pair of tongs.
It appeared to have electrocuted itself during one of the “on” cycles.
    Most depressing.
