Martin – I’m armed with a Torx screwdriver set i jsut got from screwfix. T20 scredriver looks good.
* I’ve drained machine will remove cold water inlet and unplug.
* Easy enough to take front panel off on this machine?
(I previously saw an espare general video for removing sump hose on an indesit that talked about accessing it from the bottom – although on their video there was no base plate on their machine).
* I’ll try front cover – do I need to undo the 2 screws the door catch goes into as well?Many Thanks,

Yes removing the door interlock screws will make life easier and unhook the door boot retaining ring of course. The rest is very obvious….have fun!

Martin – I did this and had a look inside albeit it kept me up till 3am. I got to the sump hose. i was not sure about taking it out but did give it a squeeze and check nothing blocked. Did not get any impression anything was blocked inside it. (thanks again – Feel confident now as managed to get to that sump hose).
Here’s the strange part did a wash this morning – well less than half a load with a bed sheet + some towels. Display est 47 mins. It finished practically on time, around 55 mins. The Mrs did a wash later and this was a full load and she said that took 2 hours on the same programme. I’ll test again.
If this is what it is could it be the machine needs “re-balancing” ?

I’m not sure what you mean about “Rebalancing” ? But the ‘fuzzy logic’ may need a wash or two to ‘reset’ a normal programme time maybe?

well I called a repair company in case i need to call someone out. On the phone when describing the problem the receptionist checked with an engineer and said maybe machine needs rebalancing as the issue does not happen on an empty wash.
but alas i tried an empty wash today 30degrees easy wash shows as 47min estimated. got the same issue. counts down to 1min remaining but at 1 min remaining the led is still on the wash led lit. it still shows 1 min remaining for some 10 more mins. then shows some 27 mins remaining, finally finished the wash prob about 2 hours from the start. when i phoned bosch they verbally said it does not sound like a drainage issue but anyway will need an engineer. The lady did say it could be electronics e.g. the board for example esp with timer jumping times. When i asked how much board is and if economically viable she checked and main board no longer avail as machine was 10yrs old this march.
now at wits end what to do – might look like a new machine needed.

It sounds like you are being given the run around. Meanwhile I have asked all the questions of which you answered to the best of your knowledge. I would therefore conclude that the problem is indeed the control board and replacing it uneconomic. Time to buy a new machine. 💡

thanks – do you think it’s worth spending the £40-50 call out charge for an engineer to diagnose just in case it’s something a lot cheaper (based on the symptoms mentioned and troubleshooting steps done so far) ?
