ParticipantBit of a strange this one, put the m/c on wash programme and it will fill, drain then fill but the pressure switch clicks in before the water is even visable in the drum. The machine then goes about its business with virtually no water. I seems to fill on the woollens cycle to the level of water you would expect at the start of a cottons wash.
I checked the valves etc, replaced element as that was open cir. I cleaned the pressure system and cleaned the pump. All clear.
Any ideas pressure switch or module??

Yes, mate as I mentioned to you earlier on the phone – It’s an odd one did you check the pressure hose – are you absolutely sure it wasn’t blocked by crap ? Otherwise it could be a dodgy pressure switch

Did you remove the pressure chamber and give it a good seeing to (ooer)Greg

Change pressure switch… :lesson: in case that you didn’t worked at wires before (interchanged) or it was laid down on right side and water get in all pressure tube.
How many clicks makes before stops taking water?

One click when it takes water in but double when i blowed into it!
I have cleaned the pressure pot etc

Yes but when you hear the clicks, are you checking that contacts close for each level with a meter? Clicks can be misleading.

Hi.
Sounds like a pressure switch fault to me, and, if the heater has gone open circuit would probably have been caused by low water level as they have a TOC in them. Timer/Module unit will not cause this fault BUT One point to note is that this machine starts to fill and advances at the same time, fills from one valve until level one is reached, then advances and fills again from the other valve depending on the wash selected, so an open circuit inlet valve can cause a low water level. The valves on the WFF machines fail for a past time and are certainly worth checking.
I Change loads of valves but rarely change pressure switches.
One other interesting bit of info…. The dot on the selector just after wash ‘3’ is the heat pause, bit of useless info for you all 😳
Hope this helps 8)

Cheers i have metered out the valves and they are switching between the two as you said but still bring in too little water…….. Ill change the pressure switch and see how we get on 🙂

ParticipantWent back to this m/c today, fitted the new pressure switch and it has made no difference. Run it through ever cycle and it is still under filling.
I rechecked the drainge, pressure system and valves!!
Any ideas

Bit of a headscratcher this one Simon and no mistake. 😕
Tell me? Suppose you were turn the machine onto a wash cycle but not have the air hose connected to the pressure switch? Logically it should overfill or course, but does it I wonder?
The confusing bit for me is that you say that the woollens cycle fills to the higher level OK, which is odd?
So, if after trying out my suggestion and the thing overfills then obviously the pressure switch is working OK, (especially as you have fitted a brand new one!) 😕
Therefore (clutching at straws here :rolls: ) I think that possibly, just possibly the timer/module may be at fault here? Dunno?
What I do know is that inlet valves can play tricks and I for one would pop a new one on to see? Also heaters a major failing at this age of appliance, so any spurious earth leak could play tricks on the electronics (possibly?)?
Hope that helps? Best of luck!

ParticipantWhen the pressure hose was disconnected it did over fill yes
The woollens seems to be filling to the level you would expect for a cottons wash not to the correct level you would expect
Ive ordered a set of valves for it, and repalced heater on first visit (rechecked the new one today) as the first one had gone OC

…….then it makes no sense to me Simon, honest to god!
Do assure us that you have taken the air bell off fully and cleaned it? That the Air Bell grommet in the tub is clear? That the drain reservoir and the bleed hose to the dispenser have been cleaned out? And that the sump ball valve hasn’t got a sock or hankie stuck in it?

Participantyep all been off and cleaned!!

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFF1201
Has got to be a timed filling fault then, surely?
Valves on these are a pain, can work normally and then just go open circuit for no reason.
Still not convinced on timer fault though.
