KeymasterHello All.
Top site!
I have read all the FAQ and posts regarding the Bosch Maxx above but still need help!
The drum doeas not rotate. Water in and out is ok.
Any attemp to rotate the drum results in a flicker of the (house) lights and a minute or two wait before the cycle repeats. This applies for spinning (no water) and for washes (lots of water).I have checked the belt/pulleys – black dust deposit(?) around the drum bearing where the ‘spider’ attaches – belt seems fine – no shine ar perishing… Drum rotates by hand freely.
I have removed the carbon brushes from the motor, which still had 6mm length (from the flat face to the shortest edge of the wedge) and did not have spares so put them back in after cleaning out as much carbon dust as possible.
Even if I run the machine with the belt off, the motor starts then runs until inertia stops it – appears to run freely.
This machine has worked with NO problems for 5 years!
Any help or advice greatly appreciated – PS I am competent with electronics/electrical equipment, just not had any practical experience on washing machines…
Thanks

ParticipantProbably marginal brush contact – these start off nearly 1.5″ long. The clue is that the motor will run unloaded (belt off).
However there are 2 different motors on this machine.
Brushes for the “Siemens” motor are part number 154740 @ £21.97/pr + vat
Brushes for the “FHP” motor are part number 173028 @ £27.73/pr + vat.If you can identify which motor is fitted Dave Conway should be able to supply you through Shop@ – possibly at a slightly more favourable price!
Hope that’s some use,
Regards,

KeymasterRe: BOSCH WFL200UK – should be WFL2000UK
Hi all.
cannot identify motor, or find a rating plate at any rate. Had a quick search on numbers found but…
Two cast ally sections with laminate (iron?) in middle…
Numbers found: 5500 000260 (dot matrix print/etch/burn) on pulley end, plus 220/240 50Hz info.
Castings have (pulley end) 129.600104 (read with mirror) and (bearing end) 129. 60102 as part of cast (probably no use)
Any ideas would help.
Thanks

Its easy to tell, Draco, the FHP carbons are in holders that are removed with 2 screws while the siemens brushes slot direct into the holders without having to remove the holdes themselves.
Whatever you do, always make sure the macine is unplugged before touching anything.

ParticipantD-oh! Good point Mark. Thinking further, the same brush stick fits both holders……..
It’s been a long hard day.
Over to Dave I think. 😉

If it’s the one I think Connect’s CBN5129 carbons should do just dandy.
Someone confirm please, I’m not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} familiar with the FHP/Bosch brushes.

ParticipantCBN5129 doesn’t flag on my system – try 12-AG-03 on Maddocks – that’s defo the one.

Hi.
Tried to insert piccy but don’t know what the URL…stuff is about!
The brush holders are constructed of a white insulator with a bronze(?) plate which slides to (un)lock from the holder. The faston prevents the plate slipping out during use.
No screws are involved in removing the brushes.
Thanks

Hello.
Got some brushes fitted. Motor runs some of the time. Motor locks (tried to assist) and humming heard. Rough inspection, i see two windings (i think) where the resin/potting has boiled (black). Going to check the e/trics 1st but might just get new machine.
Thanks for all help. Will let you know outcome.

Does your part # CBN9121 include one or two brushes?
