You mentioned Brexit again Ken, yes that’ll be the reason AND, to my way of thinking, the solution. Once we sever ourselves from the Brussels dictats we are free to set our own goals. Perhaps too free to set our own VAT levels for the service industries thus reducing unnecessary waste and so on. Manufacturing returning to within our shores, Ebac expanding, ship building on the Clyde and so on. Dreams to reality as we watch the EU implode, Germany looking to us for answers. ….”I have a dream”…… as someone once said. 😉 😀

Just noticed Hoover have raised spare parts prices by 15{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} across the board this month. No doubt a delayed reaction to last year’s fall in the value of the pound.

Well it seems spares price increases are coming into line with the finished goods, so that’s OK then. 😉

All really inevitable and very little, or nothing at all, to do with Brexit. But if it makes you feel better about it then yes it’s Brexit again all 17.4 million of us. 😀

OK for us maybe in the short term, but not for the UK economy. Rising prices feed higher inflation, in turn leading to higher interest rates, causing reductions in household disposable income and in business investment, leading to increased unemployment, increased government spending, higher taxes and lower living standards.

    Wow.
It was the UK’s turn to take a hit at some stage so I guess Brexit is a good excuse, I suppose it’s chin up time. We are good at that in this ‘trade’ !!

This thread surely indicates that business is down at the moment, if you read ‘are you busy ‘ thread its all the same…. All Domestic Appliance customers in general are uneasy of the future so things are tight… Staying in the EU was not given a full agenda ,and good ol’ Dave got it wrong by having a referendum allowing us the general public having a say on such a complex issue ,and now with Mother May saying its gonna be good for us all, What a load of crap!!! but whats done is done, and now we are all going to pay these hikes, and have to put up with it….

    Re: Brexit Stage Left…

This trade has been in decline long before the referendum if you look back to the “Anybody else quiet” thread started in 2007.

Brexit is being used by all kinds of businesses from Jamie Oliver to Cadburys to blame for everything from branch closures and price rises to shrinking chocolate bars.

I don’t need to tell the older forum readers this but a Curlywurly used to be as long as your arm and a wagon wheel was as big as your head and it’s all David Cameron’s fault 😉
