a bush machine i repaired only had a blockage and the tank assy was the same as the amica awp510p, statesman mxw10252 and the currys essential machines. personally i think they are quite good value machines and easy to repair. the only negative thing was that the door seals seem too thin and can easily split.

25 years, I very much doubt that, :rolls:
That aside your posts will be deleted or edited if you continue to make any threats towards other forum members. And a ban will follow suit if you don’t behave.
It is possible to have a discussion, even a heated one without resorting to bad language or making personal threats. 😉
For what it is worth if my mother lived next door and had one of these machines I would not touch it. 😛
You may or may not actually own one of these machines, we only have your word for that, if it is true then you do only have experience of this one appliance.
helo_75 on the other hand is almost certainly the most experienced member of this site with regard to these machines. As a long time Comet engineer who had the misfortune to have to repair this ‘stuff’ for several years. In that time it’s safe to guess that BER would have figured quite a lot. He will have seen hundreds, possibly thousands of them. 🙁 He can be a little ‘brusque’ but he only tells it like it is. 😉
If you do not want to be suspected of duplicity then you need to read back on your previous posts carefully, you cannot say in Sep 2010 ” I have only just discovered this website” and then intimate in your recent post that you and your mum have been visiting these forums for 25 years, ( even though this forum did not exist 10 years ago) :rolls:

Who invited you to the party dear?
I hardly expected you to be on my side once I realised you too are from Lancashire. Same as the “comet engineer” as you call him.
You are now the second individual on this thread to mention that I may or may not own a washing machine that I actually do own. I will not have my honesty questioned.
Also the bit about 25 years was just a rip off from a Catherine Tate character. When offended, he states how he and his mother have been doing something relative to the person he is insulted by for 25 years.
Plus…..I will not have my thread closed or edited. It started off as a really genuine way of trying to help others with regard BUSH washing machines. If I had said it broke after 9 months and they were rubbish, I would not get all this crap? But as it is, I am telling what has happened after 2 years and I get totally slated and accused of either being not from the UK or that I work at the washing machine company or that I might not actually own the machine at all. Oh Please!
Now his post was a disgrace and very rude. And just because I retaliated, I am being warned about manners and being called a troll.
Also just one final thing about your reply to me, “comet engineer” would not “fix this stuff” as you say as the washer is from Argos. Sold only at Argos. So there is no way he can have seen “thousands” of these washers. The thing is, I would keep quiet about being anything to do with Comet. It does not enhance his post very much to be honest. You know as well as I do, that anyone that knows electrials would not go near that place with a long pole.
Now I speak as someone who previously worked for the group that owned Comet. Even with the 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} staff card, I would not go there.
I am not playing last word, but I don’t want to hear anything more about this. I want to come back here at some point and update on this washing machine. It should have been a really simple thread that was picked up on google’s search engine to help others. Not a slanging match and trying to put me down or suggest I am lying.
I am off shortly to buy a PRO ACTION washing machine from Argos for my mum and dad. It’s £150. I am going to start a new thread called DIARY OF A PRO ACTION WASHING MACHINE.
I would prefer it if you and “comet engineer” steer clear of it. I am not on here to argue. But I won’t be told off for my purchasing decisions.
Adios.

So there is no way he can have seen “thousands” of these washers.Argos do not manufacture the unit and there is no such manufacturer as Bush. The Bush name is a badge on the front of the unit only, a company called Vestel made this unit. Vestel manufacture this particular unit and sell it to numerous retailers under a multitude of brand names. This very same unit is sold in vast quantities by Comet as well as Argos. There is every chance therefore that he has seen thousands of these washers.
You have jumped to an assumption which is factually incorrect!

As a former employee of the group you must have known that they strike deals to badge products with there own brand names, just like DSG, John Lewis and Argos do?

Some will agree with your point of view, others will not and may post accordingly.
Helping others is an important aspect, but that does not mean we have to accept only your views on the subject matter. Many on here have different views on the subject which we have developed from many years of experience in dealing with this manufacturer and I for one believe balance is called for.

We too see 1000’s of these unit.

Your preferences are immaterial in a public forum.
Argue, you seem to do that well when it suits you. It is a too way thing on these forums, if you don’t like it, perhaps you shouldn’t do it!

Pro Action: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/abou … hines.html
Bush: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/abou … ances.html
Vestel: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/abou … stel-.html
The last one demonstrates just how many of the cheap machines are simply rebadged Vestel machines.
They can and do actually build some machines that are fairly decent in the price range but, that comes down to how they are specified by the brand owner. It should however be noted that a good many are specified to be “as cheap as possible” and not “as good as possible within the price constraints”.
To illustrate this have a red at this article:
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/buyi … kdown.html
Buying almost any washing machine under £200 gets you not a lot of machine for the money in reality. If it lasts, great, you won a watch but the odds are not in your favour.

Are you still kicking about here? You should be mortified about what you wrote to me some posts ago. If I had a bad bone in me and wrote that I would be mortified.
You are an ignorant person.
I now HATE Lancashire and will never go near the place. You done that……..

I’m puzzled as to how you came to that conclusion? 😕
On the contrary MCGONIS is very eloquent in his dialogue, grammar and spelling. He also has a very interesting profile from reading through is very many posts in other forums.
He lives in Scotland, did previously own a Servis washer. Took delivery of his Bush machine from Argos on Monday 13th September 2010. Is in the habit of buying Argos vouchers but doesn’t work there but rather is a civil servant in the Benefits Office.
I wish him well with his 2 year old Bush machine….still going strong no doubt. 8)

See here’s the thing with your little experiment, it’s not actually giving people that much real information as it’s only one machine in relatively low use. Sure, you’ve got two or three years out of it so far and, you might even get more, but it’s largely relative to use.
From what you’ve said so far, according to my calculations, you’d fall into the low or average use bracket so you’re not thrashing the machine at all. Look after it and it will probably last a bit longer.
More on use levels here: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/buyi … e-use.html
Now, if you take that and compare it with how long the machine would be expected to last, (there’s a graph here: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/buyi … -last.html) then to be fair, I would have expected it to go this far at least.
Once it gets beyond five or six years, again dependent on the use and care afforded it, then it might become more relevant but, I suspect, more of an anomaly if it does.
In the meantime, people that go buy one of these and subject them to higher levels of use, don’t look after it and so on, will likely be very disappointed.
Fair play to you for championing the cheap washing machine but, you need to consider more than you are I think.

So in others words it was a crap machine when you bought it and its still a crap machine, you are just lucky its lasted this long and that is mainly because you don’t use it!
At least you are keeping the Chinese people who work in that factory for ten bob a week in a job, and giving the eco people something to talk about with all those excessive fumes they pump in to the air from the factory, and thats before we get on to transportation costs and enviromental damage it causes, but as long as you are happy thats all thst matters
