Yes, was suggested a while back but probably too soon then, have warmed to him since though. No objections, would have liked to meet the guy first mind, think he is trying to come to next meeting?

Grrrr. Should have kept quiet and just banged on with it.

It has actually been a while since we had a pointless “Public Forums” debate, so why not? The active trade membership has changed since that last one, time has passed and it might even turn into a more mature discussion. I may also bed Keira Knightley before I’m 50 (six months and deteriorating), so the odds are probably not good. 🙁

Helo? Well, he’s been doing the Helo thing for far too long to be considered a stalking horse for Comet by now, so I wouldn’t think we’re in any danger of being compromised. Perhaps access here and and a slap round the ear might do the job; I really don’t know. I do think he’s an assett. Assetts shouldn’t be wasted. Why have a discussion about it? If there is a general concencus that he’s doing a job well and consistantly, give him the gig.

Carl seems set on his course and I’m most unhappy that my words should have been taken so personally. There was never an intent to point fingers at any individual, this whole thing was born out of a general frustration with where we are and how everything is working (or not) at the present time. I apologise without reserve to any and all who feel offended.

Next time I’ll just type “frustrated” and everybody can run for cover. Or forward bottles of Scotch.

Carl is a valuable asset to the site and has been for a while. I did say that there was a reason for Carl being here and that the experience and guidance was essential. Carl operates in a world we don’t always fully understand, especially in the details.

I didn’t want to tackle that till the sting had gone out of this and calmer heads prevailed as they usually do eventually.

In the end it wasn’t, as I see it, a dig at anyone in particular just a general frustration, which I get. I get it as, at times, I wonder why I bother TBH as all I seem to get is grief and there simply has to be an easier life, somewhere.

Believe me when I tell you that there has been times, especially in the past few months I’ve though “f**k this for a game of soldiers”, I can go do something else. Fourteen or more hours a day, seven days a week without respite will do that to you and I don’t even earn the big bucks or get any glory. Not that I want glory, never did, I’d far rather stay out the limelight thank you very much but it would appear that that isn’t an option these days.

In fact, when I think about it I don’t know why I do do what I do. I can’t even really quantify what I do as some can. Funny old thing that.

But then, if we don’t all do what we do, who’s going to do it, whatever it is?

Or do we just let the trade descend into chaos and let the public all go fry themselves carte blanche?

It’s sh1t I know, but it is what it is.

I know that Carl took offence to the remarks made but, they weren’t aimed at anyone and certainly not, as I see it, at him. Due to that I hope that calmer heads will prevail, that Carl’s intentions will be reconsidered and perhaps if we all need a kick again a more delicate approach might be in order. 😉
