I cook on a wok on my induction hob with no problem at all, Mine is also set into a a granite worktop. Ours is a Siemens 90cm wide one with 4 cooking zones and a warmer in the middle. So far, absolutely no problems at all. Ours has the stainless trim on two edges (the short edge) and I have no problem at all with keeping it clean. When we were deciding which model to have, we did see some that could be fitted flush with the worktop – can’t remember models, sorry – they looked nice too.

just popped in to post an update: hadn’t realised that there had been some more replies! Thanks all for comments.
We decided to go for the induction hob. We have just bought a Belling, mainly because it was a bargain – £400 reduced from £600ish – but also because someone we know had just bought one and finds it satisfactory, ánd it’s OK (according to manufacturer) to install over an oven (a small clearance is required).
Hopefully it’s not a problem brand?

Hi ciavdivs
The Belling brand is fine.
Glad you got a good deal and hope it gives you many years of good service.

hi Don,
Phew! 😉
thanks for getting back to me.
for anyone else thinking of getting one: my friend mentioned some of the induction hobs she was shown beeped every time the level of heat was turned up or down – something she found highly irritating.
I would have found it extremely irritating, too – and it’s not something I would have thought of when buying the hob.
