Absolutely tragic. One does not know the whole story as to what exactly happened, but it just emphasises the need to have proper training on product repair and electrical safety, not to cut corners under any circumstanses. What could the possible cause be on this one?
Bi passed interlock? did the door break at the hinge end leaving the door pecker in place and interlock still energised? only time will reveal what realy happened. If indeed it was total incompetence on the engineers side, there will be severe penalties imposed on him and repercussion within the appliance service industry as a whole I fear, probably in the shape of stringent certification such as there is with gas safe. better late than never. 🙁

I don’t think you’ll see a gas safe type system.

And, if you did all the repairers can expect a hefty bill for it. Frankly, the repair industry hasn’t the funds to finance such a scheme.

There are many Gas Safe registered peeps who if tested properly would not pass, there are many weekly reports of leaking appliances left connected.

Its not policed nearly as tight as it should be.

I recently updated my LPG and couldn’t believe a guy passed so easily (because he has Natural experience) the centre accepted he was competent, we left the assesment and was in a group chat with him stating he hasn’t got a clue what to do in the field, but glad he managed to pass.

There is actually no such model as a Creda WM800/02. :rolls:

    It will be a 17*** .
