I like cross referencing parts esp if I have it in the van to see if I can use it. Masterparts used to be so good at it and that was stopped. Connect still do some cross referencing. Qualtex are very good at it.
I get frustrated that I can’t seem to cross ref Hoover parts on Connect as it is nearly always genuine when other suppliers uses pattern parts.
Oven elements are the worse. Some simply point you to a £60 grill element knowing that they have pattern part for £20 and that is just Bosch via Connects. Thankfully for having the Element man on my doorstep who helped me out thousands times over.
