Hey guys, you can quote prices ’til the cows come home and they will always, but always be different simply due, for the most part at least, to your monthly/annual purchasing level. 😉
A firm that spends £200 per month with CDSL ain’t going to get the price discounts as one spending £2,000 now are they? Pump that up to £10,000 per month and discounts are taken to rock bottom to secure a healthy trading relationship….stands to reason….business is business my boy.. 8)

Sorry to disagree Martin but thats where you are totally wrong.
My monthly spend is considerable, yet get a raw deal on certain lines.

Martin you are stating the obvious and if it were correct then fair enough, the fact is though it doesnt work out that way, hence the reason folks pose the question in the first place. Where some other companies may have a few varying discount rates, connect do not follow any pattern and prices vary almost randomly on even on location, not complaining but those in the south east seem to be on a better price level than the northerners AFAICT. I wonder if things like the amount of returns and general hassle/ promptness of payment are taken into consideration.

My average monthly spend with Connect is just over £300, I pay via personal credit card as per order so don’t have a monthly account, don’t know if this would make a difference to discount by paying up front.
By using a personal credit card I can get up to 5/6 weeks credit before credit card bill comes in.
This will not suit everyone but works fine for me.

Well, I’m spending £1500 + a month with Connect so that blows Martin’s thesis out of the water. (no offence Martin!!). I wish I could understand their pricing policy but I cannot see a pattern. Silverbroom; you’re spending a fifth of the amount I do, yet you get better rates? Good luck to you, mate; but why?
You would think that the amount of times this thread has appeared someone at Connect would have clarified it by now. Maybe they don’t consider it important; or they know they have a captive audience in the independent repairers. :shake:Steve.

Hi Steve,
I don’t have an answer as to why I get the rates that I do. I started buying from Connect about three years ago and don’t have much contact from the area rep.

That’s probably a better thesis then based on the evidence given so far. 😉
