cooker hood question

    hi just wondering why cooker hoods are not wired with twin an earth cable as the casing are metal, and have electrics ie motors switches inside ? :rolls:

    Hi, possibly it is because all electrical parts are double insulated similar to a lot of small appliances like hair driers and TVs etc…..

    o right was just wondering that why only have a 3 amp fuse . as been loads where bulbs take out the fuses . prity stupid idea realy me thinks

    Hi Yep seen many 40 watt bulbs blown 3amp fuse.

    Their not earthed like said because they are double insulated. Have had loads of 3a fuses blow when the bulb goes, the chimney ones are worst where they put the plug behind the stack and almost impossible to get at

    Yep, Its the bulb blowing that takes the fuse, but don’t be tempted by a bigger rated fuse, when the bulb blows it will take the swtich pcb track instead.

    Same thing happens when certain types of house lights blow they also take out the trip.
