Can anyone help me with instructions on how to take apart our Creda T632CW Dryer fit new Thermostat kit (which I bought from this Site…very speedy delivery) without me unscrewing about 20 screws that didn’t have to be undone…and also having no bits left over ….other than the 7 Socks it appears to have eaten… 🙂

We cannot go into chapter & verse for safety and legal reasons, remove the mains plug and take off the small cover at the back, about eight or ten screws.

Thanks Mate, that’ll do for me…by the way great site this…a few weeks ago I had a problem getting the washing machine working…looked up the fault on here and someone else had, had the same problem … turns out both buttons on the front had been pushed at the same time, you guys explained the solution, and bingo…Thanks.

Be sure to keep the condensor clean, and avoid switching the dryer off in mid cycle when it is hot, two common causes of stat failure.

Are you sure the condenser is totally clear. Can you look through the full length of the condenser and see day light the other end. If blocked clean out using shower head or garden hose. DONT USE ANY SHARPE METAL OBJECTS.

Consider the thing as an air pump, it’s all about moving the air through the appliance as freely as possible. Any obstructions – choked filters, door channel, condenser monoblock, manic overloading – slow down the airflow, causing the machine to run hotter.

Experience suggests however that the single most common cause of the safety being tripped out is setting the dryer for 90 minutes, then opening the door after an hour “To see how they’re doing”. Toasty hot airflow stops, temperature shoots up in the heater box, instant safety failure…….

    Hi Chaps
Yep condenser is clear…as soon as I fitted the parts I gave the whole dryer a good cleaning filter condenser..even hoovered all the vent slots at the back of it.. but today put a minimal load in (on sensor dry as always) and noticed 2 hours later its still tumbling, when I opened it, it was still cold.. 😥

Re: Creda T632CW Themostat Kit Rplacement

As this is a sensor dryer you may have a faulty dryness module, not very common but something I have seen on the similar Hotpoint machines on several occasions. Did you notice if the heater light was on as soon as you selected your drying programme before you pressed the start button?

You should also see the heater light go out for the five or six seconds of reverse tumble.

Unfortunately this module is just under £70.00 ex vat. It may be time to get the machine checked out by an engineer before going any further, as this machine is a little more complex than a standard condensor dryer.

    Hi again
The green light on the front (Sensor/Heat) does light up when I start the programme. Thinking back, during removal of the back panel last week, I found it easier to remove the small white cover and the bar that runs across the back to… the small white cover had black powder inside it..just like charcoal …. does that sound bad…don’t suppose it can be good 🙁
    Cheers

Re: Creda T632CW Themostat Kit Rplacement

The green light should only come on when you press the start button, not when you first turn the knob to your selected programme. If the stats have failed again then the light should not come on at all. The black gunge in the small cover is the rear plastic bearing wearing away, this has recently been changed to a phospor bronze bush.

Re: Creda T632CW Themostat Kit Rplacement

It may be time to get an engineer in to check this machine out, there is another stat, hidden away in the door surround. Also you did not mention checking the new stats for continuity after the dryer failed to heat the last time you used it..
