Does your’s have the same problem as mine? – No heat at all although drum goes round. Is it the thermostat or element?

It could be either Toni, more likely is the thermostats though 😉

Wow, cheers for answering so quickly, Dave! 😀
I’ve had the back off & the metal appears to be slightly in, rather than convex. I couldn’t work out how to remove them though as they seem to be attached to wires!
I’m very good at taking things apart but always forget the order in which parts are replaced. Is there a picture anywhere of how the 3 covers (at the back) go, please. The door on my ancient Indesit Prestige Line 1000 washing machine has been broken by my kids! Would a door still be available for such an old model? 😳

Cheers but I’ll have to wait for my son to come home to pull the machine out!

The good news is all the door parts are available (all sold individually) so what part of the door is broken and is the door hinge OK?

I think it’s the hinge pivots that are broken. The actual hinge is OK but the metal rod has broken both of the pivots.
How much would a complete door cost?March 23, 2005 at 5:13 pm #127600Dave_Conway

You can’t buy the complete door I’m afraid, it’s all individual parts as Martin mentioned.
Probably the hinge and the two plastic hinge blocks inside the door, best to check exactly though please.
Dave.

It’s just the hinge blocks – if they are the same as pivots. The actual hinge is OK. I just thought it might be easier just to change the door as the hinge posts are quite fiddly.
Many thanks for your help.March 23, 2005 at 10:50 pm #127602Dave_Conway

I noticed that a Creda T632CW Tumble Dryer was mentioned above where the drum will still rotate, but the dryer isn’t getting hot. This is what has just happened to mine.
It also says that this is more likely to be the thermostat than the element (I have managed to get the small back panel off, and it seems the element is in tact at least – though whether it’s still working I wouldn’t know). Is it possible for me to order a spare thermostat from somewhere, and would it be possible for me (a relatively proficient DIYer) to replace?
Also, is there anywhere that will have some sort of diagram or instructions that shows how this dryer is put together, as there is obviously nothing in the instruction manual that shows you how the dryer works? I actually don’t even know where the thermostat is at the moment.
Really don’t want to shell out for an engineer if it is a simple problem that I could fix myself (though obviously if it isn’t this I’ll have to). Any help anyone can offer would therefore be very much appreciated!
John.
