By what you are saying Ken; it is best not to fit the hob above the oven?

Most definitely….I even had one go faulty because of a microwave fitted underneath it 😉

You can fit one above an oven but make sure you follow the install instructions on venting and insulation.

One more thing to consider if you are thinking about buying one, is that they usually “power share”.

That is they will usually only allow you to operate two plates on “full power” while limiting the other two to “half power” if you try and use more than two on full power at any one time.

This is’nt usually a problem tho’ as it’s unlikely you’ll need more than two on full power at any one time!

Great pieces of kit! (if you can afford them!)

Yeah Richard, exactly as Honeywood says, if you don’t have adequate ventilation you will in all probability pop the board on it and, believe me, they ain’t cheap to replace!

If I recall one of the Whirlpool boards or “guts” assemblies costs more than a new hob… go figure. 😕

    Even though were engineers
I hate to say this ( runs for cover). Would it not be beneficial to take insurance out on it then?

I’d recommend it on them, not worth the risk IMO.
