ParticipantHi Everyone,
We have a Electrolux dishwasher ESL5205LO
No fault codes and we have had an engineer out to look at it confirmed everything working, BUT every cycle used to end in a big Steam cloud as the door opened at the end of every cycle, now no steam???
The engineer check the pump was working, the element is working, and looked in the engineer secret menu to see if any fault codes have been logged, and nothing!
All it does no matter which cycle we use is finish with no stream at the end and a poor cleaning finish.
Have cleaned all filters too.If you have any idea why this has happened of give any tips, would love to hear from you!

ParticipantIs it definitely getting hot during the wash cycle as this sounds like the heating element isn’t working (despite what the engineer says)?

Moderatormaybe an intermittant heater fault
heater failure on a lot of dishwashers does not bring up a fault code but it does extend the programmes as it waits for heat then aborts heating phase

ParticipantHi Tubafan,
The engineer was happy the element was working, he checked the amps it was drawing via multi meter, It gets warm in the cycle, some steam can be seen, but not like the end cycle when the door opens, still nothing, have tried the reset option, but nothing…no different.
No error codes…just cant understand the disappearance of the steam at final stage???April 23, 2022 at 4:49 pm #482084gman41
ParticipantCheers Dave, will investigate that!!!

ParticipantAlso Dave there is no extra time for the extend the programmes, all cycles are spot on!

Moderatorlet me have the PNC number off the label and i can see if there is anything specific to this fault listed

ParticipantUpdate…
We paid Electrolux a one off payment to get it fixed a eye watering £141.
3 engineers came over 5 visits heating element changed and still the same results, but just give up with them and trying to get our money back.
Anyway…on the 30 minute cycle we DO have steam and heat, just not on the normal cycle of intensive, they are COLD.
Has anyone came across this?
Its looking towards the PCB board…but that’s my guessAnyone got any ideas???

Moderatorare you still getting heat on some programmes but not others because it sounds like a motor tacho failure which stops it heating

ParticipantHi Dave, I have heat and steam on the 30 min wash, its currently on the normal wash 65 temp… and checked it mid cycle and cold!

Moderatortry something
try a 65 temp wash. wait till it opens the detergent container ( this proves it should be heating) then leave it 10 mins to be sure heater has not energised.
Then cancel the programme and restart immediatly on a 30 min washThen check if it heats
