This dishwasher previously had issues with the tray filling with water and 3 beeps – which were fixed by an engineer coming and fitting some new parts about 2 or 3 years ago.All to with water pressure sensors I think.
We regularly have a 2-beep problem which is resolved by isolating the unit over night.
Today we have a different problem with a single beep which I believe is “water not filling” When I took off the front plate I could see that a plastic rod underneath the unit – is it part of the float/flood mechanism? – was hanging down. I put it back up and tightened against its mount. The dishwasher sprang into life only to stop again 5 mins or so later with the single beep.
I can’t believe the water has stopped flowing – we do have high pressure here. It’s a fitted unit so rather than drag it out I wanted to see if there’s a simpler fix first.
I can’t find a service manual that tells how to reset it or test it. So, questions are:
1. Might a reset (if someone can tell me how) work? can anyone tell me the process?
2. Might that rod be implicated?
3. The float has a load of dried up old crap under it from the last flood a few years back. Could this be part of it?
4. Might it be a sensor or a pump?
5. Easy to fix?
6. Is it worth fixing or dumping? It is 5 years oldMany thanks in advance!

Moderatorwell since single beep seems to be a water inlet problem i would check the coil on the water valve first

ParticipantThanks Dave – please can you point me at some instructions for that? Should I just buy a new valve and fit? seems like a cheap fix?

Moderatorno point till you have checked it after all do you want to buy parts you may not need
you can if you want but you could spend a lot of money if you are not careful and still have no dishwasher
you need to follow the pipe from the tap and it screws onto the valve. this valve has a coil and you need to disconnect one of the wires ( or both) and measure the coil with a meter. i would ecpect to get between 3000 to 5000 ohms

Participantthanks again – I have reason to presume that the inlet valve is integral to the water softener – I have not seen anything else that looks like one and the part does not exist if I search for it online as a valve – am I right ? I can’t post pictures because of some limitation but I have PM’d a shared jpeg link

ParticipantOk – so the aquastop pipe feeds into a clear plastic unit which then feeds the water softener There is no valve before the water softener. can you see this ? https://imgur.com/a/QJU4qDC

Moderatoryour inlet valve is in the hose by the tap. to measure it find the 2 connections going up the hose to the tap, disconnect one or both and see if you can measure the coil. if no coil its gone

ParticipantHi Philip. I feel like I have a similar problem. Single beep and definitely no water pressure issues or kink in the hose. I’m being a bit dim but how would I measure the ohms to see if the water inlet hose needs to be replaced? Do I need to remove it from the actual dish washer as well? Thanks

Moderatorwhen the hose from the tap enters the dishwasher there is a connector
you need to measure the wires going to the valve after you have disconnected them. Your looking for 3000 to 5000 ohms or there abouts
if you click on the link in the post above you can see the connections in the picture
