Maybe one company has acquired the other?

Would one plausible theory be that Qualtex may suspect Connect have gained access to some Qualtex accounts in order to compare prices, hence Qualtex’s decision to step up password security?
I would bet this is the case

Qualtex set up our account years ago with the password as our postcode, with as far as I know no way to change it. Not the cleverest password policy if you want to protect commercially sensitive information from a competitor.

I have also noticed that the prices of my Connect account have gone to the equivalent of a cheap retail outlet rather than trade…
I have had Connect contacting me throughout the past two weeks asking me to place orders with them instead of Qualtex.. giving me the availability of the fit-lists for the parts I buy and making sure that I get the matched prices…
However, today, I needed to buy a Bosch part ..
The price at Qualtex £18.49
The price at Connect £21.27
The price at Bosch £28.25But fair dues given to Masterpart; they had the part in for a change and priced at £16.00, notwithstanding this, Masterpart charge £4.95 for postage and have guaranteed next day AM delivery for the part.
Connect could not, or would not, price-match the part.. Part bought from Masterpart
Just to put a point to put forward for Qualtex; they probably would have price matched Masterpart, but they charge £6.65 postage and it is doubtful if I would get an AM delivery from them, but I buy regularly from Qualtex so they wont mind too much missing out on one order.
This is just an example of what is on offer , and what could be gained, if you look around, and if you ask.

Gosh, I can’t handle with the whole changing passwords every three months! Bad enough with Connect now with Qualtex. A faff if you use the home computer and the ipad for it and forgetting what’s the new password especially if you changed it on the home computer and haven’t got round to do it on the ipad.

here we go again…. had to change Qualtex password again this morning, not easy when due to autofill you don’t really know the previous password which of course you need to change to the new password!!!!
Thank god I have not got several engineers all accessing on different devices out there, must be a nightmare.August 13, 2015 at 12:52 pm #428104Andy jones

Hi. My qualtex account has been matched to meet or beat cdsl. It grips my sh1t when vdsl want me to but 5 elements to get the same price as qualtex.
