was full of hope when i discovered emw, thought yay less write offs, but now the tally of boards to fixes = 1/9 im not so sure. not only that, they dont seem to check their answerphones now either!

recently been having several boards back as just “we dont repair these boards” are the guys overworked? i dont mind waiting if only they can sort it!!!

only last week i sent off an aeg wm board that would not do anything. asked them to phone me with the outcome before sending it back, and didnt hear anything… yet i sent of an interlock popped zan board and it was sorted. cant work out why the aeg pcb was not a pcb they repair?!?!

same with bosch d/w boards, 2x pcb = we dont repair these type of boards… yet send off a h/p branded bosch dw board with a massive blowout and they could fix it?!

i have tried 5 times now to get somone on the phone during working hours but only get the answerphone!!!

if tony reads this id love to have your direct number :):):)

If you ask them before you will know if you are wasting your time or not.

I have found they can’t repair the later modules on electrolux, whirlpool, Bosch but they can fix all the latest Indesit boards.

If you look in there manual you can see what they can and can’t repair.

    Re: EMW issues

If you ask they will post you an A5 manual, I keep mine with the UKWG fault book, means you can tell while at a job if EMW can recon it or not so give the customer a price. Certainly annoying when they can’t repair it but I’d guess this is due to limitations on the number of test rigs they have?

Have to say their expertise really is great though, can’t fault any of the work they’ve done for me.

    Re: EMW issues

i cant fault them either if you think they are bad you should try qer they are diabolical.
i have always found tony and his team extremely helpful.
they say quite clearly that they only fix heating related problems on dishwasher pcbs.
and you know if they cant fix it because they send it back immediately.
i often ask tonys advice and he will even tell me if i have a similar board if i can use it thus doing himself out of business.
there are so many different pcbs these days its no surprise they cant fix them all.
i always ask if they can fix something unusual before sending it to them,
i asked them about a fagor pcb the other daythey dont fix them so i dont send it.
i have never had an answering machine, sometimes they are engaged but i just phone back later.
if it wasnt for emw i would have scrapped a lot of machines.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK EMW!

I have found EMW’s service A1 up to now, although I only buy boards never send them in for repair.

Checked the number on the site and it’s the same one I use from me moby. Never had a problem with them answering, usually get them again later if no reply, no joy after 4pm though 😉 .

    Re: EMW issues

It’s always disappointing when our service is criticised, especially as we work so hard to ensure that repairs and orders are turned around same-day. We do try to repair as many boards as possible but only take on a new module when we have thoroughly researched it and of course have the test rig built. It is always best to check with us before sending odd modules but at least we make no charge for the return postage when customers send us modules that we do not repair. Our telephone line is generally answered between 9am-4.30pm with an answering machine taking orders out of hours. I can also be contacted on 0773 012 0672 for additional technical enquiries but preferably not for straightforward orders which should be directed to our normal 0115 9652118 line. If any customers are not sure if we repair a board, check with our website http://www.emwelec.co.uk or call us on 0115 9652118. Tony EMW

    Re: EMW issues

just thought id post my experiences with EMW, its been A1 and cannot be faulted except for a couple of years back i had some issues with indesit boards, the usual flashing and clicking round balava in the end i gave entertaining board problems as only time i got any recalls from any boards supplyied by them was indesit, so after that its been plain sailing again. i think its a good resource to have to be honest, im not plugging EMW as iv had issues like i say but in all i dont think from my experiences they should be knocked.

    Re: EMW issues

I often think of EMW as one of the best examples of outstanding service I have come across.

I have found them to be utterly reliable, and their replacement modules when confirmed to be in stock are on my doorstep, as promised next day without fail.

I have returned 1 module which developed a fault after a few months and recieved a replacement module with the same express service the following day.

One day I hope to be that efficient and reliable!

    Re: EMW issues

EMW have been good to me too. One time when I blew up a Bosch module by fitting the wrong lock they had another go at it for me foc.
It’s not their fault that they have to charge a decent price for what they do and that modern boards especially Merloni and Servis are such cr@p. I never buy a new board unless it’s a cheapie Beko / Matsui or such like and I’m 99.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain of diagnosis. Any doubt about diagnosis and it’s EMW every time. What would CDSL/ Masterpart/ Qualtex say if your new board didn’t cure the problem?
    Mike.

    Re: EMW issues

There are not many companies ive dealt with in this game that i can say this about but EMW provide in my opinion a perfect service. I have thier brochure in my tool bag so i can look up what boards they do and prices instantly on the job. Make a call to them and as my details come straight up, i just tell them what i want and it turns up next day. If you make a mistake and its not the board you send it back and it costs £5:95. The technical info they send out with the boards is usefull too.

While im on the subject of praising the services of companies i use i’d like to highlight a few good things about CON-nect.
They have a wide selection of parts, they..erm…erm..erm…ill have to come back to you on that when i can think of something else.
