Thanks to Sean & Rob for their early call, sorry I kept them waiting, I was unaware that they had sneaked up on me in the night π . First impressions are very favourable, would have liked a fast blow fuse to protect the module in view of the type of interlock being used but that is something we can no doubt work on when we sell enough to have more control over things. nice solid package, overall access very good. to all involved, I have a queue of customers ready and waiting.

A thought has just occured to me, ( the old grey matter is a little slow in this cold weather) was I dreaming at Sibson, or did I hear Kevin say that the machine would have a ‘timer’, and that once we had moved 30,000 units ( not sure about that figure ) that we could gain control of the timer configuration etc. β or perhaps my brain was addled by watching Cher the night before. π

Once we move volumes we gain control of the timer as well as some other little thinks, like the looks of it. π
And at that point we can actually start to be even more fresh with ideas.

By timer, do you mean the control PCB ?
November 22, 2005 at 8:41 pm #154637kwatt
KeymasterSame difference. The thing what controls the program and what the machine does, okay! π
Call it what you will, timer, PCB, control panel, PCB timer, circuit board, electronic board, etc… it’s all the same thing in the end. π
Sorry Jim, couldn’t stop myself.
And the 30K came from general conversations.

As always we have a plan……..
We need to sell the units in order to gain more control of what the factory are prepared to retool too.
No sales…no chance
30,000…cool, we are in control.
Why, well thats the future, can’t tell you everything all at once can we.

just as an aside, I would never attempt a repair on a machine whilst still wearing my watch, π π perhaps that is the ‘timer’ you meant. π

Pens? π― I didn’t get any free pens! Sean and Rob got a free sandwich though π₯
Seriously though guys, the machine looks brilliant; I’m sure we’re going to be on a winner here and I’m really looking forward to honing my poor selling skills when it all gets underway.

Mrs roly16 has always complained that appliances are designed by men who usually don’t have to use them. She has suggested that , [when we eventually get to have this control over the design] can there be some female input; particularly over the interior design of the dishwasher which will no doubt materialise in due course?

Hhmmm. I trust you’re not referring to mrs roly16 as a dog Jim. πΏ

Can I just thank all you Lads who took time out of your busy day’s to let me and Rob call round and show you the Machine.
With all the cups of coffee I had due to all your hospitality I was awake most nights till about 3am then up again at about 3.30 am to use the bathroom.
( yes I know, a little too much information)The general consensus of opinion was that we have a good appliance that is a well specified machine, good quality, accessible and straight forward to work on. The five year free parts tie in, and free van stock with the sale of the first appliance seemed to put the icing on the cake with you all.
With regards all your comments Iβll take them as they come
G.B. It was a pleasure and Iβve put you in my top five of favourite coffee makers. but you were quite wrong when you said i gave you free pens
as I distinctly remember giving you four. Two for you and two for your DadTony said “Two young men” Well Just for that Tony, I’ve put you on my Christmas Card List ! I’m even tempted to come to up to Preston with me 6 string banjo and help your group out with the Christmas bookings.
Jim Has admonished me for wearing my watch in the Product introduction
DVD, he is quite right too. I was so keen to see how easy the appliance was to work on that I plumb forgot. Lets just hope that if you sell enough ISE washers that you’ll be able to own one tooI see that Geoff is miffed about me forgetting to give him some pens. That was because I was too busy polishing off the Chedder and Red onion
Chutney sanrnies that his good lady kindly made for me and Rob.
Donβt Worry Geoff your pens (Just Like the proverbial cheque) are in the post.To all the other 40 odd ISE Participating members that Rob and I visited in the western half of the UK over the last fortnight I’d just like to say a big thank you for your time and interest in this project.
Poor old Kev Heath is about to repeat the whole process in the eastern half of the country over the next two weeks which will be even harder considering the time of year. I just hope he finds the guy’s half as friendly and welcoming as I have West of the Pennines.
Though there are those who say that the best thing to come out of the eastern half of the country is the M62 (Only joking Kev)
All Being well I will be visiting our Kilted Celtic cousins in the second half of January to give them a chance to get over hogmanay. (by the way to save any confusion I’m referring to Bonnie Scotland not Corby π )
Regards to all

Joking, its a lovely sunny morning here in Lancashire, first call at 7.30 was just over the hill in Saddleworth, who’s inhabitants insist on saying they are in Yorkshire, it was dismal, dark and foggy. Reminds me of a line from an Oldham Tinkers song called Owdham Edge, ” And now wi cum to Yorkshires line, ah cahnt see nowt past theer but grime,” πDecember 7, 2005 at 1:20 pm #154647admin
