Make sure, with the W/M back together and the power off, you can lift the inner bowl, and move it round freely without it grabbing the agitator and turning it. Then it should drop back into the clutch, and then when you turn the bowl the agitator should move as well. If it is doing this, and the W/m is empty of water and it still wont spin, then it could be a faulty pressure in the control board.

Have you tried cleaning the water pump? They get full of lint and when it gets to the spin cycle, the pump can’t empty the bowl. I have a Fisher and Paykel and had this problem the other day. The sound is like ginding and it sounds serious. Having said that, I know nothing about washing wachines, but it worked for me.

    Cheers

This is infuriating!! I appreciate your patience kiwi.

OK, I tried that and yes, it all worked fine. I don’t think the problem is with the water pump as it is emptying the bowl fine, although I will see if I can clean it out anyway.

So it could be faulty pressure on the control board? I should of mentioned it, but the control board is new (3 months) as the old one crapped out.

Also of value (perhaps) is the strange problem this machine has begun having of filling with hot instead of cold water. After the fill is about 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} done (cold cycle) the cold water stops flowing and only the hot does. I get around it by filling with a bucket, then it works fine and fills fine during the rinse cycles. This begun happening about 3 days before the spin stopped working.

Anyway, your help is so much appreciated. People that freely give their knowledge and experience like this deserve medals, it’s so uncommon!!

If the board is only 3mths old, try a new one as the board has a 1 year warranty, and if faulty will be covered. But when the board was replaced, did the size of th W/M get stored? Do it by pressing and holding start/pause down, then press power, and release both. The W/M will give 3-4 beeps, then press power again. I hope we are getting closer:wink:

This is interesting, as the board never worked as the instructions said it would.

OK, I turn the power on at the wall. After all the lights have blinked once, three remain flashing. These are the rinse, final rinse, and spin lights. This is with the machine turned off.

Following your instructions results in the following lights being lit:
    spin speed: medium
    wash temp: warm
    advance: spin

When I push power again, the three lights (rinse, final rinse and spin) are still on, even though the machine is off.

I bought this board at the local appliance repair shop, I don’t think it is a F&P part. I commented on this when I bought it and the guy said that F&P don’t make the part, they contract this company to do it, and the warranty is 3 months.

But what do these strange light patterns mean?

The motor controller for a 051 should be blue, what color is your 1?

It sounds like one of the auto features is jammed on, Take it back and try a new one.
