They’ll use a national delivery service then, probably whoever Liebherr use for national home delivery. They’re delivery guys though and not normally technical at all.
Surprised the retailer didn’t advise though.
Never heard of them before TBH so I’ve no clue what they’re like.

Our Bosch arrived on Saturday and the delivery guys told us to wait at least 4 hours before we switched it on. The instruction manual actually said to wait about half an hour.
The only reason i actually read the manual was because i was surprised that we had to wait 4 hours. so i wanted to check whether this was something that bosch recommended or they were talking rubbish. We did wait about 4 hours in the end anyway.
If they hadn’t said anything we would have turned it on straight away as we wouldn’t have known any different.

Hi duck1E
Nope not rubbish at all, I always advise eight hours standing time.
This post from K earlier in this thread gives a good explanation as to the reason why.
kwatt wrote:Yes, all refrigeration should be allowed time to settle after delivery. Minimum period should be eight hours and this should be in the instruction manual.
Most retailers or delivery people will advise this as well.
The reason is that there is oil in the system that can be dragged up and can cause refrigeration problems and blockages of the refrigerant system if it not allowed to settle after transportation.

It’s been pretty much the ‘rule of thumb’ advice given by us in the trade now for years. And I was surprised to find that the popular manufacturers advice from the likes of Bosch, Hoover and Electrolux all make similar quotes on the subject in their customer user booklets, for example: –
Bosch user guide wrote:After installing the appliance wait at least 1/2 hour before switching on the appliance. During transportation the oil in the compressor may have flowed into the refrigeration system.
“at least 1/2 hour” has to be something of an understatement and doesn’t take into account all the possibilities that refrigerator may have endured and encountered before you the hapless customer switch it on for the first time. For example, how was it stored and was it stored in an upright position during that time? Transportation and delivery inevitably result in the appliance being tipped at an angle beyond the vertical.
Likewise removal of the transport packing and adjustment of the feet and door mountings involve a lot of movement of the appliance and the oil within it’s system. And finally and more importantly, the actual ambient temperatures the appliance has been subjected to whilst all this was going on? A fridge delivered in the middle of the summer will take a lot less time to settle that in the depths of winter.
Therefore taking all of the above into account 8 hours will more than cover any probability and therefore stands as the ideal to cover any given situation.

Hi guys,
Interesting topic. I work for a company that covers various maintenance contractors for retailers and manufacturers and we always advise a miniumum of 2 hours settling time after delivery for reasons as already laid out in the post. We seem to get a lot of queries about noie of appliances as well when delivered new and we tend to find out from the feedback that we get that it can take up to 48 hours for the system to completely settle to normal operational standards.
However, back to the Prestige PRT325ffcs. We’ve got a client who has a customer with one of these machines who requires a PCB but we are struggling with a parts supplier. I have tried all of the usual major suspects for these parts but no joy. Has anyone ever had any experience of repairing these and happen to know of a parts supplier? I have heard rumour elsewhere that this could be a Liebherr manufactured appliance (although I have my doubts). Any thoughts?
Thanks in advanceDecember 12, 2009 at 3:18 pm #290353kwatt

Does look very Liebherr but I’ve no idea who has responsibility for the parts as, so far as I can see, it doesn’t appear on the Liebherr parts system.
Can you get the service number and I’ll have a look with that?

Just to add to this thread – we are having similar problems with our Leibherr CNesf 3033 – Freezer thawing food on defrost cycle.
Still in the nevery ending loop of engineers chopping out bits every few weeks and us losing all our food in the fridge (can’t use the freezer).
