perhaps we should talk about this on another forum?

the original poster has already been directed to a previous thread.

Thanks for your responses. I have moved the unit into the house but the bread is still not remaining properly frozen and the compressor seems to be running constantly. Can someone advise if it would be worthwhile topping up the gas? And what would the likely cost be? Thanks again Allywdb

Nope, as I keep saying… it’s a sealed system. If it fails after more than a few months then it’s not needing topped up it’s needing more than that.

I expect that the compressor is weak from running excessively during the summer months and it’s effectively not an economical repair.

That’s the thing with conservatories, garages and outhouses… too cold in the winter, too warm in the summer.

    Hi

The appliance may have a partial restriction which might be able to be cleared.leave the appliance switched off with both doors left open in a warm enviroment for 72 hours before the engineer visit.
Make sure the engineer replaces the filter drier and vacuums the system for approx 30 mins should clear it.
If it doesnt then its a new appliance required.

Thanks again Guys. I have discussed this with the recommended engineer and have decided not to progress further as it was going to cost another £67 to have it looked at and he did not think it would be repairable. I am impressed with the Forum and I have bookmarked it for future reference, but definitely not for football advice if you get my drift!! Thanks again to all respondents. Allywdb
