If you’re on your own, the ISE10 is a beautiful piece of work, but probably more than you need. 10 year warranty is very comforting, engineering is outstanding, it’ll last 20 years even with family use.
The 2 machine offered excellent value for money in it’s class; value for money spares after the warranty period should ensure a reasonable service life but it’s not in the same league as the 10.
Oh, and there’s none left. Currently discontinued due to the exchange rate problems. The 5 machine is a nice compromise…….

I haven’t used an ise2, but have an ise10 and had an ise5 whilst waiting for the ise10. I think the 5 was absolutely fine. I really wanted the ise10 because of the warranty and doing loads of family washing, but have no complaints at all about the 5. Both wash brilliantly in my experience.

Re: the ise 10 do you have to pay extra for the fold down door
get1a2 wrote:i have seen it says door is optional does that meen that it does not come
with machine and you have to pay on topBill wrote:All the ISE10’S that I have sold have come with them fitted. I do not think they are an extra.

boselecta wrote:The optional means the door is removable if desired. But it comes as standard on all the ISE10’s. Ask the engineer to remove it if you don’t want the outer door, only takes 5 min.

Ask the engineer to remove it if you don’t want the outer door, only takes 5 min.Although it is removable, quite easily, (maybe not 5 minutes) it will leave 2 unsightly slots where the hinges protuded. To do the job properly an alternative front panel can be fitted by an engineer but that would be charged for.

have not heard anything about the alternative front panel, please tell…March 1, 2009 at 12:33 am #277887Penguin45

Perhaps Mr Watt may be able to advise you.
Perfectly adequate for your needs.

Penguin45 wrote:Have you asked your friend?
It’s a simple, basic machine. No frills, mechanically robust, no fancy displays. Turn the knob, press the button, it launders. Running times are in the user book.
I’ve sold loads of them, with few problems.

Re: ISE 10 will it compromise on cleaning
get1a2 wrote:if the machine will complete a 40°C wash more than 40 minutes faster than any other washing machine will it compromise on the cleaning results. does that mean the cloths will not be washed as well can you set it so it take longer to da a wash
kwatt wrote:Not in my experience after several hundred washes.
Clever drum design and software helps there. 😉
No, you can’t set it to do a longer wash beyond adding extra rinses.

get1a2 – you really have only one question, so they’re now all here in one thread. Further new threads will be copied into here and deleted, so please stay with this one thread.
We don’t have the time or the bandwidth to waste trying to gather your random questions and lack of response to the answers you get with what you really want.
The LG is super if you like bearing failures and waiting for parts to come by boat from Korea, btw.

That machine has a three phase induction drive system, so will be nice and quiet. It has the EWM2000 series electronic control system, which is vulnerable – door lock and pump failures regularly take out the electronics. It also has a polypropylene tub assembly, which is welded shut. In the event of drum bearing failure or a particularly awkward blockage, the tub unit will require replacement as an assembly. Much ££££.
