I’m hoping vacuum cleaners count. I worked on one of the original Hoover vacuum cleaners from (what looked like) the 1920s. It was similar to the 119, had a wooden handle, and was black and silver.

That was a bit of a nightmare at the time. The Hotpoint machines on sale then (early 70’s) where either the 1830 ( an all white version of the 1100 rpm spin 1600) or the 750/800 rpm spin 1850 range. The Hotpoint badged Zanussi machines where the 1826 & 1823, the former had a spin speed of 560 rpm and the latter an earth shattering 370 rpm. 😥 You can imagine the amount of grief we got from customers who thought they had bought a British made Hotpoint. The complaints of poor spin far outweighed todays moaning about extended wash times.

I used to go to an old lass who had a Hotpoint Empress & I think a Princess. She washed in one & ringed ’em out in the other! Best thing was they where farmers, so she struggled with these ancient machines & hubby drove about in a brand new Jag!!!! When ever we did any work on ’em, he would always want the bill made for a repair on the farm’s power washer!

Hoover 0307 was the first machine I ever wielded a screwdriver to fixing way back in 1965. 🙁

Rolls Concorde & Rapide twin tubs
Imperial washing machines, made by Zanussi 1970 ish. Then the L1 & L2 in 1973 & 1974
3236H & 3243H Matchbox range Hoover machines were the latest thing.
Cut my teeth on the 3334 twin tub and progressed to the 3314L that used to leak from the spin can where it was sealed onto the top frame. 3224H Sloping front keymatic.
I could go on all day.
