Hi all , not been here for a long while , only when the washer is causing probs and when Wife is passing on the earache ๐Ÿ˜‰

To be honest the 555 has been a pretty trouble free device over the years and maybe we ought to retire it . but giving it another chance ๐Ÿ˜† .

Had the door not opening after any wash , and found nothing mechanically wrong , but a slighty dodgy solder joint on the control board . reflowed it and all seems ok, but now She has reported that the Prewash does not switch on .?

So unless there is something outside the controller board that can cause this , maybe a new board is is order ? any clues Guys ? .

PS . my main trouble with the washer is cos its basically so reliable , I only visit it every few years and have to spend a while re familiarising myself with it workings every time , and this get harder the older i get .. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Why do you need a prewash anyway, the wash times on these are extremely long on most programmes at the best of times.

It could just be the clear plastic ‘light guide’ that sits between the buttons and the pcb.

Back to the occasional Stuck Door . getting more and more often and now rather too often !
Did this last night, left for a long while and still stuck, unplugged and left all night and it opened this morning ok .

But now after another wash it not opening again.

So Board or Door latch ? , seems the ready light doesn’t now come on when the machine is first switched on ( according to the Boss ! ) but will come on when the start/pause buton is pressed ! ..

So leaning towards a faulty control board ?

Any Clues guys ? , got a machine full of School clothes need for tomorrow !! ooer!!

Given the difference in price a new door interlock would be the way forward.

Most appliance engineers would consider the interlock a very simple device. They would also know with years of experience that interlock faults often lead to blown modules.

Thatโ€™s why they would change the door lock ASAP before forcing anything given the very low cost of one.:(

Fitted a New Interlock and not improved it .
The machine finishes its cycle and stops , the interlock does not let the door open unless left for a long time, and the Ready Light does not re-illuminate as it has always done before ..
Does the 555 offer any error codes /diagnosis sequence ?

On the verge of buying a new control board. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Does it actually complete the full spin cycle?

The fault could also be a sticking pressure switch or badly clogged pressure chamber.

Does it open normally if you remove the mains plug or switch off the power as soon as it has finished?

Re: Hello Everybody ..Ci555. small prob

Not one I have seen TBH.

Is the control knob set exactly to a programme and not slightly between settings.

What happens if you press and hold the Start/Pause/Cancel button then wait for the door to unlock then try it again?

Re: Hello Everybody ..Ci555. small prob

    its already unlocked ans empty
Holding the Start/Pause/Cancel button does nothing.
All selections are in a correct position, have tried lots of other permutations .

The moment the switched on and power button is pressed . the lighta go one in the sequence ..

Spin…… ready …. then the top 2 start flashing. . wierd .. with a set of bearings needed soon too, wondering if its time to retire it ? . pity as the rest is still in top nick
and its a good old washer..

What happens if you unplug from mains for a few minutes.

TBH if the bearings are on the way out then the January sales sound like the best option. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have pulled out the control board just in case any damp is playing things up , but all dry

Its been unplugged since last night and was like this on first switch on today . and unplageed for the last coupl of hours .

    Just considering chucking a 50 quid controller in as its the only complcated part ๐Ÿ˜‰ ? or not ;

With dodgy bearings it wouldn’t make sense unless you can afford to throw ยฃ50 away. ๐Ÿ™
