ParticipantHi all, my customer has fitted a new slave timer to the above himself and now gets an f12 fault but only when he uses the dryer.
Are the codes for these the same as the washers ? I can’t fathom why the communication error only appears on drying programme.
Thanks AllanSeptember 5, 2014 at 5:57 pm #418716Martin

Give us the full model number or better still the 8 digit product code (3???????) as that will help decide. 😉

Thanks Bryan
It heats so I’m guessing it’s the NTC.

It may be coincidental that the selector switch caused the dryer error though I wonder why the customer replaced it in the first place, please explain?
There is a specific ‘auto test’ for the dryer only which may help explain what us going on? The dryer module on these is on the base, the dryer selector switch on the panel alongside the main prog selector switch which makes diagnostics challenging. Email me if you need the test manual for this heap of wonderment. 😉

Will do thanks Martin. The customer states he changed the selector because ” it was doing strange things and going on the wrong setting”

That’s OK then as faulty selectors do that anyway.

It doesn’t nor never had an NTC. Error 12 is a connection error between the 2 boards. And bugger all to do with NTC’s 😉

He’s had the facia off to change the selector. I’ll check ribbon cable and board connections..

Never said it did.. just that its the dryer heater fault according to the fault code.

That’s news to me then Bryan. All I know it what’s listed for that model (and most Hoover/Candys stick to the same error code format)…..
