EMW have and can for you I’m sure you’ll find. What’s the state of the motor like though lest it should blow the triac again having gone to that trouble?

Motor is OK,no earth faults, might take it off to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure though.

Hi BG, new to this part of the site; have you got an open circuit between the gate and A1 terminal?

Motor checks OK it’s not a brush type it’s the little phase one (I think) have, with my limited electronics knowledge checked the triacs etc but the motor supply is via a bigger type triac device heat sunk to the metal shield with lots of connections to the board and has STK621-140 and 5DBOJ stamped on it.
Not a type I’ve seen before.
have mailed emw but awaiting a reply.
Module type is MDL CID0011H
Brodders, can’t see any terminal markings as you suggest checking.

Hi Spimps,
I’ve also had one of those modules fail and not easily fixed as the brush motor type.
It’s to run an ‘Inductive’ motor.
EMW will certainly be able to help, Tony’s a very clued up man and very prompt and cheap too.

EMW don’t do these so have put feelers out to find a triac,it has 18 legs however so it may be pig to fit, depends on price as to whether I try it or not..

Hi Spimps,
Can you send me a pic?
I’m surprised it has 18 legs, are you sure it’s not a few triacs bolted to a heat-sink?

The triacs are all part of the same, with two screws fixing it in place. This is a washer dryer.
it can be seen at
http://img81.imageshack.us/i/alfie0132736x1542.jpg/The three small triacs that can be seen in the front left don’t run the motor.

The datasheet for the equivelant motor control ic is here
http://www.datasheetarchive.com/pdf-dat … 289594.pdf
sorry about the long link, dunno how to do short ones.at the bottom are the contact deatils for international rectifier who can supply, quite pricey for a one off i reckon and maybe not the fault?

Hi,
Thanks for that
I wonder if the manufactures had it ‘custom made’ for all their machines.I get some components from chinamart, you can post what you need and suppliers get in touch. Only problem is – they usually want you to buy too many to get a good price.
Sorry I can’t help anymore then that.
The board sounds like a rip-off at £200
How old is it? If it’s only 2 years or so, the customer could get it repaired and bill the suppliers under the sale of goods act. The product ‘must be reasonably durable’
That means it should and can be expected to last 5 years!! That’s a fact and the ‘seller’ would have to pay the cost! Not the manufacture.Kind regards

Hi,
I looked at the chip. Smart but complicated.
Didn’t know about those.
You hit the nail on the head; don’t know if it’s faulty or not.
Sorry

Thanks as I said have already contacted suppliers via a search engine and have the data sheet.
Fault code says that motor triac o/c which I can trace on part of this heatsink/triac.
As for the sale of goods act and and merchantable quality my experience of 35 years or more, 99.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} will dump and run because they don’t/can’t do with the hassle as suppliers well know.September 16, 2009 at 7:07 am #296733broddersbaldrick
ParticipantRe: Hoover VHD 9143/Triac fault
Do you mean dump the ‘money’ on you then run?
I tried it; one gets a brick wall for the first few calls then they cave in 🙂
I think it’s fair.I got a chip for a Panasonic inverter microwave from Chinamart, i had about 30 companies wanting to supply 1000 or more. I finally got the minimum order quantity down to 5 but £15 shipping.
The chip was about £2So how much is the chip?
