Repair guy diagnosed heater without looking,says part unavailable.

A repair guy with clairvoyant abilities is a rare find indeed. I tend to not use tarot cards or crystal balls but instead get out my toolbox and test meter and check things thoroughly before making a diagnosis.

If the heater was found to be faulty then they are still readily available.

The heater’s not currently available Martin, it’s nil stock everywhere, both versions of it.

Could you please advise how to access the heater and test it, do I remove the bottom plate.Is it a simple test for continuity?

I told how to access the heater in yesterday’s post. Continuity test, earth insulation test and visual inspection are the way forward. 🙂

Thanks for your help, I’ve decided to scrap it,suspect 17 years use isn’t bad !
What make would you recommend for reliability,another Hotpoint?
