ParticipantOn final rinse (cottons cycle) the machine overfills and the pump keeps going on and off whilst it tumbles. It then just sticks there filling a bit, tumbling and pumping a bit until you click it onto the next notch which is spin of course. It works fine elsewhere throughout the various programmes and options, including the dry cycles. The wash water level and rinse water levels are just fine throughout the other cycles including the rinses on the cottons cycle prior to the final rinse…..all very odd and not one I’ve come across before.:?
Knackered timer is my diagnosis?…comments most welcome please. 😀

How about the pressure switch?
As you know the last rinse is higher than the wash and other rinse level.
Sound like its going into the safety level of the pressure switch?Saying that ive never changed a p.switch on this model and am only assuming it has afore mentioned safety level.
What do you reckon?

I have had the odd strange pressure switch fault on these.
Not seen any fault like yours though. 😕
WATER LEVEL CONTROL
All models use a single water level pressure switch for all Prewash, Cotton and Synthetic
programmes. The only time that a higher level is required, is for either the Wool programme, or if
Super Rinse is selected. The higher level is achieved by an intelligent timed filling system.
During the first fill on the Wool programme, or if Super Rinse is selected, a gentle unidirectional
tumble takes place while filling, this is to ensure the wash load has fully absorbed water prior to the
pressure switch setting.
The controls measure the time taken to fill from empty to the pressure switch level. The time taken
to complete the fill, determines the extra amount of water to be added by energising the cold fill
valve for an equal period of time to that taken to reach the wash level to a maximum of 3 minutes,
after which the programme will continue as normal. The pump will kick in if it overfills and trips the safety level.
Reading that suggests it could be either the P/SW or the control unit. :con:

Many thanks to both Tim and Jim for helping out here. Indeed in order to cover both bases I guess replacing both the pressure s/w and the timer will ultimately solve my problem?
I’m thinking Timer in all honesty being as it behaves OK throughout the other 359 degrees of timer positions. However, another question springs to mind here :- The second level of the pressure switch is the safety level then, the point at which the pump is energised rather than a 2nd (higher) rinse level is it?

Oops, just edited my post with that exact info as you were posting Martin. 🙂
There is only one fill level ( one audible click ) and the silent safety level.

My monies on the timer 😉 although the p/sw is the cheapest option. Have you checked the pressure chamber and pipe? while you are at it check the wiring, higher water level, more weight on a poor connection, just a wild guess

….and it’s date code 10 and looking at the wiring diagram the pressure s/w wire colours differ from what they should be? 😕
On this baby I’ve got 3 whites a Red/Green, Purple/Green and Blue/Green going to the s/w. 🙁
The manual tells me I should have 3 whites, a red a blue and a violet/black……….
Hey! ho!
P.S Yes Mal, Have taken chamber and pipe of, and glued the sodding things back whilst I was a it…. 😉

Update
‘Twas the Timer – sorted!
Nice little earner this job, Landlord owns the whole apartment block (15 apartments) each one has WD63’s fitted. He lives in Delaware USA and pays by INTERNATIONAL BANK TRANSFER. That’s a first for me but the money was in my bank account just 2 days after he gave me the go ahead to order a timer. 😀
