Hi Johno
Thats very welcoming to hear that. As a mere cog in the great UKW machine, I must say Im relativly new to this but the concept and response Ive seen is amazing.
The main guys to my knowledge and i will stand corrected are Mr Dave Conway (dave_conway) and Mr Ken Watt (kwatt).
A well know saying “From an acorn a mighty oak may (and has) grown”Well done guys

Thanks Johno π
The site originator and the main man is Kenneth Watt (or kwatt, you can replace the k for a t if you wish )
I co-admin the site with Kenneth from the front line as it were but there are a couple of non whitegoods guys who do a huge amount behind the scenes with IT support and we wouldn’t be where we are today without them
UK Whitegoods Ltd is made up of four directors, namely Kenneth Watt (Managing Director), Myself, Kevin Heath (kheath) and Sean Delaney (del) all of who have spent at least 20 years each in this industry.
We have the moderators as well who are invaluable and carry out a quite often thankless task, these guys can edit, move, remove, delete posts etc and answer many posts. These are, in no particular order:
Martin (martin)
Chris (penguin45)
Mark (eastlmark)
John (johnmac11)
Paul (goatboy)
David (dquinn)I’ll take this opportunity to say a big thanks to the mod’s
We then have over 600 trade members, many of who take an active role in the site and also answering the public queries, and again a big thanks to you guys
Hopefully this helps with the site “breakdown” for want of a better expression.
π

Thank you for the comments, but…
Okay, I guess I have to take responsibilty for some this website. π
However, you have to realise that it would not be possible without the people that have been mentioned already by Dave (and Dave) as well as a host of others that were not.
Not least though by you, the people that form what UKW is today and contribute regularly to the debates and discussions on here as well as helping the general public with the vast knowledge that we have collectively. I didn’t make this site a success I don’t think, I may have steered and guided it, but I didn’t make you guys give the impression to the public and trade that you have done over the past two years or so that you have, you did that all by yourselves.
UKW is what you folks have made it, all I can say is that I’m damn proud of what it has become and glad to be associated with it in the way that I am. So be proud of what you have achieved as I’d wager that not many people thought it possible or even dreamed that what we’ve accomplished could have ever happened.

No, only limited moderating rights for some reason and it does not include the Classified forum, among many others which is why I never do much in the way of moderation.

I’ve changed the settings Mark, you are now moderator of pretty much all the trade and public forums π

All the people behind this site do an amazing job! π
I’m a little embassared myself to be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Ken, Dave, Martin and Chris; whose contributions often go above and beyond the call of duty. ‘What call?’ I hear you ask. Exactly!
I’ll especially have great admiration for those that have the cojornes to answer all the publics stupid questions, all times of day and night. Noticably Ken, Dave, Martin, Chris, Iadom, Nwar, and Gegsy…. there’s so many! In fact anyone that has posted in the public forums just once, derserves a pat on the back.
And I notice the hit counter isn’t slowing down π
Nearly five and three quarter million! And by the time some people read this, it will be five and three quarter million π―

How good is this web site?
For what it’s worth, I think this website is great.
Bringing together the independents of this industry and giving them a voice can only be a god thing. I don’t now how many manufacturers take note of what is happening here but itβs evident some of the larger suppliers of spares monitor what we have to say and it appears they take note.
To pool the knwledge of about 600 engineers can’t be a bad thing, there will always be those querky faults that can only be found by either hours of testing, manufactures technical teams or ‘luck’. Also where trial and error comes into play when diagnosing certain faults, sharing information helps to reduces the error aspect therefore reducing time and outlay on some repairs.
A big thanks to all those that put in the time to set up, run and moderate the site as well as those that are always offering advice and support.
Next time ukwhitegood have a meeting it looks as if I will have to make the journey as I think I might owe some people a drink.
