Do you mean the thin wire on the outer lip of the seal or the larger wire strap holding the seal to the outer drum inside the machine?
Several different ones used, from screwed fixings and ‘zipper’ type clamps on the main inner wire.
Front of seal to cabinet has used plastic clips & wire , zipper clamp & wire or very tight and difficult to get back on spring & wire on the latest machines.
Removal of the cabinet front to access the inner seal clamp is the prescribed and sensible way, with the mains plug removed of course. 😉

Thanks IADOM, i thought this was going to be a piece of cake, obviously not, purchased a new gasket as mine is minging, and wrongly presumed it was just the front wire holding it in place, i cant even work out how to get that one off 😳 Looks like its now gonna cost me an engneer to replace it 👿

Might be best if you don’t feel up to removing the front panel, some of the retaining straps used are rather awkward to get back on. In the meantime have a read of this atricle. http://tinyurl.com/37wxzx
Worth reading the four linked articles at the bottom of that one as well.

Jim.
PS. Its not the daliy use or monthly clean you need. It is possibly a different detergent and a regular hot wash, plus a maintenance wash (90°+) wash every six weeks or so.

Why can’t you get anyone out to it, have you tried the link on these posts ?
Or do you mean you can’t get anyone out today/tomorrow?
As regards removing every screw you can think of without success, the phrase ‘when your in a hole, stop digging’ comes to mind. You may end up making it much worse if you carry on. 😉

the screws i have removed are two from door latch, and two from bottom behind the guard, i just cannot see what is keeping the front on apart from what looks like 4 plastic pegs but just cant work out what they are doing, tried pushing front up and down but nothing, i will keep on till i probably complete knacker frame 😳 I am a woman afterall 😉

Thanks, had the stoopid idiot i phoned not told me to look for screws underneath the machine to remove the front it would have been alot sooner job done, once i had removed the front it was a quick job done, then just to remember where each screw went back, 😳 But i am quite chuffed with meself 😀
