Well what can I add to all this except to say that since the old days of the meetings at Sibson UKW and the WTA have seriously moved onwards and upwards. The venue at Coventry was very impressive, very well organised, well attended, well represented by supportive trade services and manufacturers. The format and presentations, very interesting, informative and thought provocing. The topics well presented, explained and introduced by Lawrence who’s clearly a natural when it comes communication. Finally, the grub was good, the staff attentive and the hotel well appointed and ideally located.

A big THANKS to everyone from me, too.
I’m only a year into the trade and found it extremely useful and interesting.
Also, as odom says, it was good to be able to put faces to a few names from this forum.
The location was spot on, both for travelling to and for hospitality.
Those who went ‘up front’ were very interesting and informative, and their subject matter was relevant and to the point. :worthy:
I’ll look forward to next year’s meeting.

I would also like to thank everyone who made the meeting a great success including Ian Dales who spent alot of time behind the scenes on the phone and sending emails to ensure such a good turn out of suits etc.
There is alot of work that goes on behind the scenes by various people that do go un-noticed on the day and i feel that just because they are not seen to do much are the “day” they are by no means less important.
The majority of the work that goes into these meetings are done prior to the actual day.

Thanks guys, I too thought it was a good day as well and everyone I spoke to seemed to think it was good and certainly the feedback I’ve had outside that was that all who attended enjoyed the day.
It was a monumental effort by a few people, most of whom have been mentioned, that made it happen as usual.
If we provoked some thought, led to you making contacts, just informed or even somehow by accident managed to entertain you, fantastic.
Next one is liable to be in late September or thereabouts but probably that won’t involve the big room and all the displays or stands. Probably.
However September could be interesting as by then we should have the results in on the OFT’s DEGs report and I’m quite sure that there’ll be a postmortem carried out on that. As for what else will crop up, well, there’s a whole six months to happen before we get to the next one and I’m quite sure something interesting will pop up.

dont know if its just me – but i get the feeling the wta/ukw meetings are carrying a lot of clout now ..
last couple ive been to i got the feeling that some in the room were just paying lip service and maybe thought ukw = who ?
probaly a lot to do with oft etc , but johns speach on amica and service levels have maybe also turned a few heads as to what could be achievable by using a good network and by offering the engineer a good rate.
more trade stands , would be good for maybe the likes of A.C.T to do a small refresher course on earthloop etc for anyone who wants to catch up with using the latest testers etc , maybe even martin could do this ? ..
this meeting for me had to the best so far ,
actknowledgements to all the ukw/wta satff who put a lot of their own time into making meeting happen …and not forgetting the engineer who probally penciled of 2-3 days of work to come to meeting as well …

Thank you to everyone who gave up there time to organize a great meeting.
The meetings are now so professional and people are taking notice of
of the WTA.
I look forward to the meetings as it is a great social event as well and its great to meet up with friends.
