KeymasterHi
Hope someone can help. My Indesit DI67 dishwasher has developed a fault. I put it on tonight on a full cycle however it does not seem to have got past the pre wash cycle.
I came back to the machine some time later to see if it had finished to find the Pre Wash cycle indicator flashing. I opened the machine to find that the pre wash cycle seemed to have been done (everything was soaked) but thats about it.
I manually filled the inside up with water from the kettle to check there wasn’t a blockage and reset it. It drained alright and then the Pre Wash indicator started flashing again.
Any ideas?

You would normally expect the indicator light to flash on these models which may point toward a fault code.
If it is, can you count the flashes between the pause and post back please.
Dave.

Hi Thanks for the response. I tried to count it but it ended up to be just a constant flashing.
Cheers

Time for an engineer then I think to be honest.
Try repairs@ and the directories or pop up your postcode here 🙂

Hi, mine is doing the same thing…. it’s only just over a year old and has not been heavily used 🙁 A friend of mine also had an Indesit which got stuck on a cycle and overheated. She was told that some have caught fire and I’m now very worried. Anyone with any advice please?

I also have the same problem on an Indesit DI67 about the same age. Tried the same things as the post above….drains ok but prewash light keeps flashing and goes no further.
Anyone sorted this yet ?
Also – cannot find the instruction booklet – anyone know where to get download a copy?
😯

Prewash light flashing suggests the base is flooded. You may be able to drain by tilting the appliance backwards but you still require someone with the required expertise to diagnose and cure the source of the leak.

INDESIT (in PDF format and listed using their Product Code and NOT model number)

Thanks for the advice iadom. I’ll try draining and see if that works first.
The link to the manauls does not work…any other suggestions that might help ?
Thanks once again

You could try writing to them, or phoning, 😥
That link is the one posted in the general enquiries section and was working until recently, not sure why it is now defunct???

Tilted m/c backwards and some water came out of base joints (yuk!).
Do I understand from your post that this means there is a leak somewhere? Or..could this have been caused by blocked filters etc (They were pretty messed up when I investigated)

It possible has a leak but it may be worth trying it a few times as the filters may have also caused the base to fill with water.
For the manual, which looks as though Merloni have removed from their website, you’ll need to phone them on 01733 568989 I’m afraid 🙁

If anyone wants a DI67 user manual then you can post your Email address here and I’ll send you the PDF file.
However, it doesn’t tell you how to diagnose the flashing lights; it just says call for technical assistance (i.e. pay someone some money).
I also have a fault indicated by the pre-wash light flashing constantly.
I’m going to try the “tipping over” solution and see what happens.

The ‘leaning over’ method is not a solution, if it cures the fault temporarily you still need to find the cause of the water ingress into the base.
