The machine starts up ok and pumps out any water remaining and starts filling – however after approx 30 seconds; the machine stops and warning light 1 flashes.I’ve just replaced the inlet valve as I thought this was possible the problem. The filters have all been cleaned out and water supply pressure is excellent. The machine was working op until about a week ago.

would need to know the complete model to look it up ( all the numbers off the label)

if you try to start it again do it do the same or just keep pumping ?

    Model Type: IDL 40 UK C LS08-EVO 3 C
It keeps pumping. I’ve also checked for any blockage on the pressure switch feed – none.

if it keeps pumping check the base, where the motor is, see if its flooded

No the level in the filter base is a couple of cm – as it should be . I’ve had the whole unit upside down to change the inlet valve. For some reason the water inlet cycle is interrupted after 30 seconds or so.

i am not talking the filter i am talking under that

unplug machine and tilt it back slowly to 45 degrees. see if any water comes out

if no the unit counts the water in. there is a switch to do this, have you disturbed it when you changed the valve

I restarted the machine just now and it ran through the wash cycle – draining first – then on to the wash cycle with water coming in with no problem and the detergent flap opening ok. I stopped to open and examine and immediately it ceased circulating water with fault light 1 flashing. I tipped it back wards 45 deg – and no water came out. I don’t believe that any switch was disturbed – however the machine was turned upside down when fitting the new inlet valve.

turning any machine that uses water is a no no.

how long since you changed the valve, has it had enough time to dry out ?

well LED 1 lit is an overflow problem
which is the float in the base
but it would normally not even start a programme just pump

I suspect that its an intermittent fault ; the float is probably jamming sometimes – how does one access the float?

Ok I think that’s probably the problem – thanks for your help.

I checked the ‘anti flood’ shut off (attached to the bottom panel with two screws) the float is free and the switch appears to be ok.The machine ran through two complete wash cycles – however on the second – it came to an end successfully – but did not shut off the machine – with a fault code 1 displayed. Any further ideas?

while you were fixing it. is it possible the overflow switch got wet or its connections ?

all i am thinking is if you get an intermittant short on that switch it may fool the board into thinking its flooding
