    Hi all,

Have read as many posts as I can but dont seem to have this problem here.

Started the other day, i came home to a click-click-click from the program dial. There probably was an error code but I didnt record this at the time. I placed the dial to one of the STOP possitions and then powered on again, this reset the device I believe.

Now, I try to start it again on any program and the power light comes on, flashes as if its about to start, then stays solid. The door locks but nothing else happens.

I’ve tried to get into the filter at the bottom but it turns counter clockwise only a very small amount. It feels lose enough but wont turn more. I’ve cracked the outside of the filter holder a little through excessive force, it won’t budge.

Any ideas where to go from here other than Curry’s?

    Thanks guys,
    Dave.

your pump filter is jammed with junk that you should not have put in the machine in the first place, coins, bra wires, keys, hairgrips etc, etc. :rolls:

You will have to remove the pump complete from underneath to allow you to clear the obstruction, be sure to remove the mains plug first.

    Oh smashing!

I’ll tackle it tomorrow first thing. Is it easy to remove it? Will I be cleaning it out from the opposite end in that case?

Total novice, this is my first washing machine, inherited from the previous owner of my flat 🙂

    Ok,

removed the contraption off the back end of the filter. Looked like a pump. Once off, cleared out a shirt collar stiffener and then I could unscrew the filter from the front.

Put it all back together again, turned it on at a program and its the same as before. LED flashes as if to start program, then stops flashing and stays solid, door locks and nothing else.

Any thoughts on where I go from here? Have i removed the right thing? Is there anywhere else that would be blocked?

    Cheers,
    Dave.

    Thanks guys,

    CARBON BRUSHES.

This is the ones I believe that I need? The Motor has written on it: INDESCO 2040M3 1200. I don’t know if this is relevant.

If this is what I need, I’ll buy the parts and the cleaning tool mentioned. Then hopefully I’ll be back in business.

    Cheers,
    Dave.

More likely to be THESE ONES if it’s an Indesco motor.

Have you checked that they are worn out?

    Thanks,

I’ve removed them and not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure how to check but basically, they are spring loaded and I believe should be quite long. They are VERY short. I think they get shorter as they wear, is that correct?

If they are not making correct contact to the part of the motor that they should be, would this make the machine fail to do anything after its locked the door? I’m asking this because usually the first thing that happens is the drawer begins to flood. I’d expect that to happen even if the motor isnt working?

    Thanks guys,
    Dave.

Different models function in different ways, if the brushes are worn on this machine the door will lock then zippo, zilch, nothing.

    Thanks.

Ok, sounds like i should go ahead and invest in said brushes, give them a shot. I’ll update once I have them and fit.

Just a side note, do you know if this comes as a pair? or do I have to order 2?

    Cheers,
    Dave.
