ParticipantHi everyone
my dryer is not working, the drum will still spin but it won’t heat up.
I was thinking that it might be the thermostat problem. Can I reset or replace? Where is the thermostat?
I appreciate it if anyone can help.
Many thanks

Thank you for all your commentsI have ordered a new washer dryer. I can’t be bothered to call the engineer. It will cost me at least £70 just to call them out for a check and it is not guarantee that it will work for a another year or even months!
I have a new pressure switch for Indesit WD12UK to giveaway (I bought it from Dave Conway last week). You do not have to pay me P+P. Just drop me a msg.
Good luck everyone

There is no thermostat per se – temperature control is by a thermistor and the digital control board. There is a single shot safety fuse on the heater box which can cause this problem without the computer faulting, similarly if the blower motor is not running. Additionally, these machines are shockers for breaking the wiring around the heater aassembly.
Power off if removing the lid – if you’re not confident click the link for a UKW engineer in your area.

Thank you for your reply penguin.
My indesit wd12 is flashing ten times and pause 10 times and pause.
Do you have any idea what does that mean?

Aha – so it is faulting! There is a problem with the water level control – if the machine thinks it’s full of water, it will not allow the dryer to operate.

I figured out what is P45.
Are there anything I can do to solve the water level problem?

P45 is short for Penguin45 (the poster) 😉
The repairs@ link below would be the best option here I think 😀

Thank you for your reply. I know I should call an enginner to look at it but i am just a student and it cost £60 just to knot on the door and it does not include the price of the parts required to fix the machine. The machine is 2nd hand which i bought it from a car boot sale for £90. It was working fine until recently it flashes 10 times and pause. I really hope that i can fix it by myself if not I will have to get another part time job.

The fault indicates the likely trouble associated with the water level system as you know. Now it could be crud in the sump hose? A faulty Pressure switch? A bad connection on the Control board? Any number of things in fact?
It is advisable to seek expert help at this point, but faced with the economics of the situation the options more limited including to cut & run your losses maybe? 😕

Sigh… i hate this. I have checked the hose(tap to machine) and they seem fine. May I know where is the Pressure switch and where is the control board?
Sorry for this, I took out the lid and I don’t know where to start with. Thanks

I have fitted a new pressure switch but it still flashes 10 times and stop.
1.I have clear the pump/filter (front bottom R/H side)
2. I have checked the hose that connect to the pressure switch.
3. clear the condenser
4.Check the hose (hot and cold water)I put some water in the drum and it will drain and then stop and gimme 10 flashes.
Please help
Thanks

Moved here to keep things tidy 😉
Engineer time really isn’t it ? 😀
You may have a poor connection somewhere, intermittent pump/fill valve, PCB, Indesit fault codes are notoriously unreliable at times I’m afraid.
