I don’t accept that the old belt had stretched. It took more than an hour for two of us to get that one on as well!! I’m working on my own here and I just can’t get it on at all. No amount of brute force is helping.

New belt finally on.
Lets wait and see what happens when I run a test wash.

If the new belt is much harder to get on then the old one has obviously stretched. 😉
Two men, over an hour to fit the old belt, by eck that would rack up some labour charges. 😀
As I said, its seconds of a job, if you know as we in the trade do that the new belts are very, very tight then you know the amount of force needed and duly apply it. 8)

Actually, once I’d worked out the knack the new belt was much easier to get on!
I’ve done 1 try wash and 3 tray spins and so far so good. Lets see what happens when some clothes go in it now….!

I assume what you actually meant was “I was wrong. The old belt had stretched. Thank you iadom and Martin for saving me the cost of a new machine” but didn’t know how to phrase it? :rolls:

I am grateful to you both for talking me through this, but I still maintain that the old belt was not stretched. If it were, it would’ve been easier to get on that the new belt, which I’ve already stated wasn’t the case.
I’ll just have to wait and see now if it kicks off again soon which may well indicate a new machine is needed, but for the time being, thanks for giving me enough info and help to have a useable washing machine over the weekend.

In tbe trade we lock the belt on tbe drum pulley with a plastic cable tie. Rotate the pulley until the belt sits neatly on both pulleys then cut off the cable tie….simples!

Hi, I have the same machine and my belt slips off too. I changed the belt as it did look quite worn and I assumed this might solve the problem but alas it has not. The belt stayed on for a few rotations and then slipped off the back again. When I put the belt back on, I noticed that it no longer sat straight on the pully wheel – it actually sits right at the very back of the wheel but is right at the front of the other pully at the bottom of the machine. When I checked the bolt was loose, although I tightened it as best I could, it keeps happening. I presume this is the problem. How easy is this to fix? What will it cost? Is it worth trying to mend or should I invest in another machine?

Fit a new drum pulley if there is any play on the shaft at all. Secure the bolt with ‘Locktite’ solution as well. If the drum bearings are noisy and there is lateral movement of the drum at all then replace the machine.
