ParticipantHi all, haven’t been here for while but could do with your help once again.
I’ve got the F08 code on my Indiset washing machine . I’ve tested the element and the sensor, both of which appear fine. Readings in 30s on element and 30s on sensor ( which descends on warming in hand.
What’s next to check? Thanks for reading.

Moderatorseem to remember some bulletin somewhere that said tap the heater relay if you get thia fault
may be wrong on that one but it cant hurt as F8 can be sticking heater relay
also when you tested the heater did you check it for earth faults ?Dave

ParticipantThanks for reply Dave.
When you say relay do you mean the sensor in the back of the element?
As regards the earth no i didn’t test that , will look that one up .Dames

Moderatorok then one way you can find out is disconnect the calbles to the heater and attach something else to it. old style lamps work great. led lamps may well work as well but not tried that
you can then after insulating the connection and removing the motor belt for safety try the machine
if the heater element was the source of the problem it will run normally but when it gets to heater phase the lamp will light
goes without saying to remove plug untill you test it

ParticipantI think that is beyond my capabilities Dave. Thanks for the reply but I think Ive come to the end of my attempts to fix.
Can happily do belts , bearings and door seals but I’m going to stop at the more complex electrics.
Time for me to get an expert out I think.
Indesit charge £144 i think and parts are covered as it’s only 1½ years old.
Thanks for your time though , very much appreciated.Dames 🙂

Will give a wash test later.

Moderatorcould be an earth fault on the heater as earth faults normally get worse when things heat up
but you will find out when the enginneer visits
