ParticipantFasetester Have you checked the drain on the sink unit as l have taken these machines out then found that the cause was a blocked drain hose also had these hoses fill with solidified fat l think its worth checking just in case as the fitters installing D/W may have not correctly position drain hose

thanks jess for your reply the drain is under the sink connected in with the sink. it is draining ok.
what hoses are you talking about on the dishwasher their is a connection on the sump how does it work .
another thing i would like to ask is their a tool for removing and fitting the type of hose clips on most dishwasher with the 3 noches thanks fasetester

ParticipantThe is a tool for doing the hose clips but for the life of me l cant think what its called usually l have had to fit new clips but a normal jubilee clips is too wide so try and obtain a a thinner hose clip i.e the type Zanussi use on their machines There is a clip you can purchase from the like of B&Q but its gotta be thin!!!Also on these machines l have found water to be present in bottom tray causin’ the flood level switch (if Fitted) which sometimes is caused by Doris using the all in one tab, this seems to overfoam and thus water leaks into outer tray… get rid of this and it should start..l hate these all in one tabs as the simple tablet is better and also make sure that user fills rinse aid and salt The manufacturer does not fit the rinse aid and salt unit for the benefit of his health despite what the tab makers say….Hope this info helps…

thanks jess anti flood no leaks bone dry as i said switches on ok can set any program lights all light up in turn when selected but nothing else dead no water . i checked the iwms like new no staining their is a small switch on iwms.
i removed the connection cleaned connections getting reading on meter i think it is a pulse counter. the only thing i noticed between the terminals
their is a spec of brown the size of a pin head like rust i dont know if that means any thing.
would the sump sw stop it from filling what sort of reading should i get from it .
i know the pcb are not good on indesit the cant be blamed for every fault i was thinking did i miss something what do you think adom thanks fasetester.

If you operate the anti-flood switch manually by carefully lifting the float or the switch lever it pumps out, right? If so then that’s pump checked and drain hose / fitting.
Also, is there a reset procedure for this one, e.g. hold start button in for five seconds?

thanks mike for your reply the reported problum was stopped at end of cycle. did not empy water then the removed all the water.
then when the went to do another cycle would switch on can select all the programs close the door nothing. if the sump switch was faulty would it cause this. or stuck what sort of reading should i get from sw.
how do you remove the water valve on this and the panell under the door .
is their any indesit engineers have come across this is their some kind of grips for removing and replacing oetiker stepless ear clamps or how does other engineers remove and get them back on. and where is the best place to buy them. thanks fasetester 🙂

I’m pretty sure the oetiker hose clamps are single use only. I believe they’re made in Switzerland and I don’t think you can get them here unless you’re prepared to become an importer / wholesaler. That was the situation last time I searched a year or two ago. Some have managed to open them gently enough with long nosed pliers to be able to re-use them but it’s not recommended.
If somebody here doesn’t come up with the info you need regarding dismantling, I suggest ringing Merloni spares line and telling them you want a few parts for that model but don’t know how to describe them. With luck, they will e-mail you an exploded parts diagram which will give you some clues about dismantling 😉 . Worth asking them if there’s a re-set procedure while you’ve got them on the phone. For all the slagging off Merloni gets on here, the call centre people have been friendly, knowledgeable and helpful whenever I’ve called them!!8O!!

remember these things dont start up for seemingly an age after shutting the door…….
hose clips are available from connect and are one use only.
0120100437 are the larger ones for the heater
012G1040028 the smaller for the circ pump.
the tools (clic) are available as are the clips on Ebay. and I am sure there was a recent thread on here.
dont forget to include the cost of these when quoting.December 31, 2010 at 2:13 pm #339423fasetester
ParticipantRe: indsit dishwasher
thanks mike for your reply when the are uncliped can the not be reused. it shows a nipper like plyers for reinstalling them. some of the hoses you cant get a normal hose clip on .
is their no one on ukwg has worked on one of these dishwasher and can help the last thing i want is to break something by forcing it.
is their any one knows how to reset this dishwasher. if i cant sort the problum the cust may go elsewhere to try and get it repaired.
i repaired a dishwasher before for them then the installed a new kitchen and a crap dishwasher. it is only 2yrs old if the dishwasher had a problum should it not flash some of the program lights.
their is engineers reading this and thinking if i was repairing this dishwasher it would be up and running come on guys the engineers that have worked on these dishwasher before fasetester 😳

ParticipantHi Fasetester Yeah I’ve worked on these Dishwashers remember the hose clips are the same as Haier Bush Vestel … as its basicly the same machine…I’ve always found that to refit the old clip although looks good it never seals as it did before,it seems to deform somehow and the sheer pressure the pump delivers will cause the hose to leak at the clip point Cannot understand that any of the Screwdriver Van boys have’nt had this problem when changing the recirc pump on the Argos machines Wot do they use??? Hey fasetester l think l would replace this machine with a Hotpoint as they seem to fit better on built-in Just remember that most appliances are pretty crap these days…

sorry guys i haven’t read all the posts properly but i’d just like to throw this in to the mix.
just before christmas i went to a two year old indesit doing all sorts of weird things.
to cut a long story short i eventuall took off the door panel and discovered that the wiring loom had rubbed through on the door stiffening rod. basically there were at least four broken and a couple just with a few strands left.
i’d post a picture if i knew how.
