Belive me our white knight has had some abuse and nothing has broken. They are prety tough. The fluf filter is also at the front and easy to get to. You can get the reverse tumbeler in argos for £128 and delivery is only £4.99, they are also available in silver. They also come with an extendable vent hose built in at the back.

The White Knights are perfectly adequate dryers. The plus points are simplicity and spares are generally cheap and freely available if required. Not many down points – the trade would probably be pleased when they make a door catch system that works properly. The door itself feels flimsy, but is actually quite robust from a purely mechanical point of view. It is directly the cause of the catch problem though. The other thing to bear in mind is that since the introduction of the elasticated (or “self tensioning” belt), the incedence of drums ripping off the rear bearing support has risen noticably. For my sins, our own dryer at home is a White Knight and has proved perfectly adequate to date.

For the money, fine. Zanussi, Bosch and Whirlpool all make better engineered products – spares costs tend to be higher, noticably so with the Whirlpool machines.

That is the date that your dryer came out of the factory gates. A rough guide to age but not often that far out.

I was only joking about getting him to put his hand in his pocket. 8) 🙂
