Re: ISE 10/Maytag – is it the same machine?
Hi Richard,
It’s easier when you take the machines apart, I’ve never taken a Maytag machine to bits so I’ve no idea what’s in them.
We also know that they are made in the same factory so, it would be reasonable to expect that they are of identical (or near enough) build quality. What I can’t tell you is what specification for the build that Maytag requested, only they can do that.
What we specified is fairly detailed, i.e. we wanted the best possible build, simple user experience for use and fastest wash times we could get to meet the magical “A” EU rating.
What Ian was getting at, in a short off-the-cuff kinda way is that nobody has or is liable to sit down and compare the machines. Basically, other than the very occasional question like this, there’s no need to do so. Maytag do their thing, we do ours and it just so happens that we have machines made in the same factory.
It has to said however that Maytag do not use Asko for all their machines, just as our AW23 is a totally different machine, made in a totally different factory with not a single component that crosses over to an ISE10.
Where you’re comparing to another build entirely from another factory or producer things get easier as the differences are more marked. You’ll notice I deliberately avoided brand names in that as, all too often, you’ll find multiple brands using the same producers to keep costs down.
That’s not the case with ISE or, to be fair I think, with Maytag as we’re the only two brands that have machines produced by Asko in Sweden for the UK and, for the foreseeable future, ISE and Maytag will be the only ones that will.
