Yes, yes Martin, I know all that but my point was that they were available as an optional extra, at a cost, for many years before being made mandatory and that people would not pay for the additional safety.

To be perfectly honest I wish the courts would learn the phrase, “it serves you right for being a total muppet you fool, now go away.” 😉

Sadly, they all too often side with the muppets. 🙁

I do agree however that most people are absolutely fine and perfectly reasonable, many can even be treated like grown ups but, there’s a substantial minority of idiots out there and some right malicious “people” that will take the Mickey at the first sniff at an opportunity.

Humm I’ve never agreed with timers on cookers 😯
I don’t know anyone that uses them (except 1 customer) but that’s not the point.

We do our best between us to, as it were, mull over the salient points on most subjects don’t we Ken? 🙂

Sadly on this occasion I’ve really nothing much to add as I think we’ve picked most of the the bones out of this one. Unless we run over the various aspects of crimping tools maybe….dunno?

Must dash, got a customer who put baking soda in her self cleaning oven, was on for 3 hours, toxic fumes filled the kitchen, blew the electrics and now the oven door is locked solid. Could be a case of missue maybe?

I use ours a couple of times times every week. A lovely chicken chasseur will be slowly cooking in the oven tonight whilst I charge around the squash court.

Back home, veg in the pressure cooker, all done in less than 20 minutes, just in time for the missus to get home from work/gym. 8)

Certain Neff ovens were produced for clients around London and beyond for Jewish clients who could not touch electrical items for a period around 34 hrs I think.

We were changing lots of Elements in that region as they had them on at 240 degrees for that period of time. :rolls:
