ParticipantDom, is there any chance of a photo. When you say grill do you mean the black condenser on back of fridge. When I was tracing the wires from the circuit board they went down the side. Maybe I have got something wrong. When back home after Christmas I will look where you have found it. How did you locate it? Mine has no wires on the back at all. It would be brilliant if I could fix it.

ParticipantNo photo I’m afraid as it is all back and fitted inside cupboard unit.
Yes, the black condenser. It has pipes feeding it from the bottom right, so you need to undo the 4 hex he’d screws that hold it in position and then tilt it to the right to gain access to the centre back and then I put a screw back in for it to hook onto just to keep it out of my way with no stress on it.
The cable from the circuit board is overly long and goes down the side and up and down a couple of times before it gets to the sensor
i have a tone tester used for network cable testing that I used to trave the cable to around 10” down on the left (as looking from the back) so I started there and followed the cable up and down the left hand side. (Unfortunately that was following it back to the circuit board) obce I had realised my mistake I followed it the other way to the season.
Once found swapping over was easy. Then just a case of squirting expanding foam in to fill the space made by me ripping the back to bits. (Be light on the foam, it expands more than you think it will)
i has pealed back the plastic back, after cutting it with an stanly knife. So I folded it back into place and stuck it down with gaffs tape. Then spent the next half an hour or so pushing it back into shape as the foam expanded.December 23, 2018 at 11:56 am #458719Dom Hanbidge
ParticipantPs. The wire is encased in the foam, so you can’t see it without digging it out.

ParticipantDom, many thanks I will have a go at that in the location you found it. I have cut foam out behind circuit board following the wire so will need to fill that as well. I will photograph and post here so anybody else with same problem may save a bit of time. I have used expanding foam before it certainly gets everywhere, and it will be solid next time you try to use it. I will tape the plastic back then drill a hole and squirt it in to fill the void.
